Austin-based Armando Martinez is a writer, director, cinematographer, and the heart behind the feature film “4:15 AM”. He first began his creative career as a street magician and soon found his way into cinematography through the love of capturing illusions like those seen on mainstream television. He honed his writing skills throughout his collegiate career and eventually found himself immersed in a new passion: assisting the ventures of those in his own community by helping to air their mission statements through video production. With a unique outlook in the film industry, Armando has proven again and again that a person with a disability can create compelling stories through visual means just the same as anyone else who has the will and the desire. In addition to working with Austin locals, he has also been blessed with the opportunity to work with individuals such as R.J Mitte (Breaking Bad, Switched at Birth), Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica, American Me), and Rudy Youngblood (Apocalypto).

Meet the actor who plays Clara in 4:15 AM — Felise Garcia is an award-winning producer, screenwriter, and actor from San Antonio, TX. A writer since childhood, Felise earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at San Antonio and developed screenwriting skills with Gotham Writers’ Workshop in New York City. Her love for storytelling eventually led her to pursue acting and filmmaking. She produced, wrote, and starred in 2 seasons of her debut filmmaking project, “The Honey Trapper” Series, which won over 60 awards throughout various categories including Best Series, Best Producer, Best Screenplay, and Best Actress.

Director’s note: I have admired Felise’s work for a long time and truly have great respect for her as she is also someone who takes on many roles. I have always been inspired by how she created The Honey Trapper Series from afar, and how she makes things simple, yet powerful.

Meet the lead actor who plays “Jack” in 4:15 AM: Alonsio Francisco Carrizales Jr. is a bilingual actor based in Austin, TX. He is heavily involved in the 48 Hour Film community and has been part of several productions throughout Texas. Outside of acting, you can catch him watching the Cowboys, the Spurs, and barbecuing on the weekends when he’s not detailing vehicles. He is incredibly thankful for his family, especially his wife and son. Alonsio is eager to see more talent come out of his beloved hometown in the Valley because at the end of the day, he’s just a kid from Brownsville, TX.

Director’s note: Alonsio is more than a talented actor, he is also one who eagerly lends a hand in other departments and brightens any production he works on with light, laughter, and smile.

Meet one of our producers: Multi-hyphenate Sheilava is an award-winning producer, director, actress, composer, singer, songwriter, and published model based in Austin, TX. Outside of creative work she enjoys writing poetry, event-planning, hosting indie film & music festivals for charity, and performing live music with her band of the same name. In addition to teaching private lessons in her home studio she also works with the non-profit organization Anthropos Arts to give free music instruction to at-risk and underprivileged students throughout the Greater Austin Area.

Sheilava earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance at the University of Houston and a Master's in Flute Performance at the University of New Mexico. You can find her on most social media platforms and follow her endeavors on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Soundcloud.

Director’s note: Sheilava is an amazing collaborator who always strives to acknowledge those around her with optimism and championing them and highlighting their contributions to each project.

Meet one of our producers: Born and raised in Austin, Tyra Clark is a 10+ year business executive and independent producer who dedicates herself to serving others and to the craft of filmmaking. She’s a member of the Black Film Geniuses, Austin School of Film, and a producer at Austin Public TV. She is also the program director and producer of the Austin Metro Drug-Free Coalition Youth Media Project supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department. She’s committed to using her accumulated knowledge and experiences in the film industry and channeling them where they will make the highest impact. From the Director: Working with Tyra keeps our team grounded and harmonious. She is one of my favorite people to collaborate with because she is hardworking, trustworthy, and warm. Tyra is one of the best people to have on your filmmaking team!
