❤️ Always practice cleanliness when handling breast pumps and storing breastmilk. Wash hands, clean the pump and use appropriate containers to store the milk.⁠

❤️ NEVER microwave or use boiling water to thaw the milk, instead thaw it overnight in the fridge, put it in a lukewarm cup of water, or under running WARM water.⁠
⁠
❤️ Once expressed, the fresh milk can be stored at room temp for up to 4 hours. ⁠
⁠
❤️ Always label the milk with the date you pumped it.⁠
⁠
❤️ If stored in the fridge, put it in the back, NEVER THE DOOR, and keep for up to 4 days.⁠
⁠
❤️ If stored in the freezer, up to 6 months is recommended; however, you can store it until a year. NEVER IN THE DOOR. The door of the fridge and freezer isn't stable temp wise. ⁠

❤️ Store it in small amounts so that instead of thawing out too much, you can grab extra bags to get to the amounts your baby needs (which will change as the baby grows). ⁠

❤️ When thawing, grab the oldest dated bag first. The CDC says, "First in, first out."⁠
