THE MECHANICS OF SPELLS (CONT’D)

The sensual, rhythmic movements of Salome’s (Herodias’ daughter’s) hips and fundament; and the serpentine ambling of her feet, hands, torso and neck were the launching pads of demons. Her performance was demonically designed to have one ultimate crescendo: cast a spell on the monarch!

Herodias’ daughter was definitely grilled by her mother in the ancient dark arts. Her mother must have made her rehearse with vile mind-numbing potions dripping from her lecherous frame. She must have sustained and endured very painful blisters on her feet in the course of preparation through sweaty days and grimy nights.

You see, such a dance was no fluke; it was rehearsed to diabolic perfection. Herodias moved in the spirit and power of Jezebel just like John the Baptist was ordained to move in the power and spirit of Elijah. It was mission accomplished for her when Herod was inebriated by her daughter’s reptilian dance. When an ordinary man gets pounded by a spell, his little circle of influence suffers. But when a king is floored by a spell, the whole kingdom suffers!

Guess what, when it was time for Salome to get paid, she did not ask for half of the kingdom as promised by Herod, she asked for the head of the one whom Jesus Himself said was more than a prophet (Matthew 11:19). In other words, her sensual dance steps bore the guillotine of hell. The episode ended with John the Baptist’s head on a platter. Think about this!

At the command of Jesus, Peter steps out of a boat and walks on water as if its surface were made of polished tiles. As long as he has his eyes on Jesus, the temperamental waves are squelched beneath his feet. But somewhere between Him and Jesus arises a very theatrical wave whose murderous convulsion is such a type consistent with the wrath of the mythical Poseidon and his sea horses, powered by a wind that means ill. And like zap! Peter’s focus is quickly taken from Jesus and planted on the petrifying performance of the windy wave. His world starts to disintegrate, the watery floor beneath his feet picks up the drama of quicksand and before Peter could catch his breath, he is already knee-deep in the wave. Then he yells a distress call to Jesus who all the while has been before him. Jesus obliges him and rescues him.

Waves are distractions orchestrated by the devil to shift our focus from Christ to our material environment.

Rest is the hallmark of a victorious Kingdom life. Maturity in the kingdom is not measured by how hard you work but by how well you rest and how well-rested you are. God Himself has a mechanism by which He rests and gets refreshed. No work of righteousness can be done outside of God’s rest.
Any spirit that does not rest is a demon. The devil is the most restless spirit there is. The devil and his demon cohorts have not rested for even the fraction of a trillionth second since their epic fall out of heaven. In them are many millennia of pent-up restlessness. No wonder they are filled with so much negativity and foulness.'

The Kaduna riot of 2000 that spilled into Kano and its environs; leading to the slaughter of thousands of innocent Nigerians and the destruction of countless properties was sparked by a single article in one of the national dailies. This was a clear case of harnessing the negative power of the written word. And that was when my eyes first opened to the compelling power of the written word. I thought to myself, ‘If words written could have such an incalculably catastrophic effect; the same could be used to change the world for the better’. So I worked day and night in the following years to perfect the craft of putting words together in order to create quality word-based content as a tool for personal and societal change.

I started the company upon the realization of the power of a book. History itself is replete with many examples of paradigm shifts which came as a result of the publication of books. It was Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy that sparked the Renaissance Movement, Charles Darwin’s On the origin of Species that injected the controversy of evolutionism into the world; Karl Marx’s Das Capital that created communism and more recently, Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code that shook the faith of millions of Christians around the world. Not to mention how much the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling have unsettled the spiritual sanity of nations by helping to promote witchcraft and wizardry across the world today. It is no secret that the United Nations’ charter was carved from the theosophical writings of Alice Bailey. This has thus led me to conclude that the written word is the most powerful tool for both social engineering and transforming society.
