From her record-breaking trip around the world 🌎 in 72 days, to exposing the mistreatment of factory workers and patients, Nellie changed journalism forever. Early in her career, she found it difficult to find work, and was often asked to write pieces that only addressed women. But with some mega talent and a great deal of perseverance, she gained the admiration of the public with her hard-hitting reports. On assignments, she often disguised her identity in order to uncover institutional injustices, and her hands-on reporting led to social reforms that helped many. For courageously forging her own path and single-handedly revolutionizing investigative reporting, we celebrate this inspiring trailblazer.

Modern day Jerome, Arizona, a National Historic Landmark, is a densely populated urban cluster nestled on the side of Cleopatra Hill . . . overlooking the Verde Valley.
One hundred and twenty years ago Jerome, Arizona was one of the most populated communities in the State; what remains today is still the most unique urban cluster in Arizona.
Today, In 2022, the developed urban cluster that is the heart and soul of the incorporated Town of Jerome is approximately 64 acres, according to the Yavapai County Assessor records.
A 64 acre urban cluster with only 416 residents in the remaining 230 houses and 20 commercial and/or apartment buildings . . . Jerome’s population density score is still well over 4,000.

The Jerome Town Council seems to think that this project will provide a solution to one of the existential threats currently facing the Town of Jerome, addressing the workforce housing crisis by proposing to renovate the Hotel Jerome, providing a home tor upwards of forty-five residents in that high-rise edifice.
On the face of it, the renovation will require at least six million dollars, plus or minus, probably plus. Beyond the obvious financial difficulties facing the proposed renovation . . .
