"Don't base your faith on that of others, do your own research! "
Iliès, a young man of 20 of Moroccan and Tunisian origin, claimed at the time that he had chosen to be a Muslim. His parents were also practising Muslims.
But the COVID and the confinement that goes with it came as a bit of a shock, because for the first time he felt alone.
During the month of Ramadan, he wanted to get even closer to God, read the Koran assiduously and understand his religion, Islam, for himself.
One day, on his prayer mat, he broke down in tears for no reason and received a revelation: Islam is not the truth!
So, rejecting this idea, he studied Islam even more and, while researching, he read the Bible and glimpsed another facet of Jesus that he didn't know: Jesus, Son of God. He began to compare the Bible and the Koran and suddenly realised that he didn't know God.
He prayed every day that God would reveal Himself to him.
One evening, some friends invited him to a prayer meeting. To please them, he went, but sat in his corner waiting for "it to pass".
But God spoke to him through the pastor of the church and Iliès discovers a true heart-to-heart relationship with his God.
He became passionate about Jesus and wanted to share what matters most to him now: his faith in Jesus Christ.
Listen to his testimony on youtube!
Hello everyone,
A brand new possibility is now open to you, UK residents: it is now possible to make a donation to C.N.A. (North African Channel) via A.W.M. (Arab World Ministries).
A.W.M. will transfer the donation to C.N.A. and you will also benefit from Gift Aid.
You just need to specify, of course, that the donation is for C.N.A.
Previously, sending money to a charity based in France was a real hassle. Thanks to this 'partnership', it's now possible!
To clarify the situation, Martin has been an AWM missionary since 1983 and still is! He has just been "sent" to work for the C.N.A. mission since 2015.
Again, we are greatly grateful for your prayers and commitment to the Lord first, to Martin as a missionary and to the North African channel.
May God's grace abound in you, be blessed. 💐
During the Christmas period, the season of generosity par excellence, it's easy to imagine that some people might feel a little weary of the many requests for donations.
That's why 2 Corinthians 9:7 makes so much sense:
"Let every man give as he has purposed in his heart, without sorrow or compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver."
From Monday, Karim Mestar is launching a major campaign to raise funds for C.N.A.
The channel must continue to broadcast its programmes by satellite 24 hours a day in 2024.
May the Lord give each of us the deep conviction that our contribution will be invested in the right place to accomplish His will.
The Caribbean weather isn't exactly on the cards!🌧️
The wind, rain and cold didn't help to prolong our outing at Stonehaven...😌
But our consolation is to see some very dear friends and members of the church in Aberdeen who are praying for us and supporting us. 💗
On Tuesday, we continue our missionary journey to Forfar, then Drumnadrochit and the surrounding area. 🚗
See you soon and God bless!
Lord,
You hung upon a cross,
You shed your blood for us,
You washed away our sins.
You gladly gave your life,
So what we may live,
Life everlasting at your feet one day.
Faith, hope and love,
These three remain,
With which we will praise your holy name.
Make our faith in you strong,
Our hope in your never fail,
Your love fill us and be shared.
We thank you Lord today.
For your ultimate sacrifice,
And pray we are worth every day.
Amen.

We have deliberately chosen to stagger our posts a little to coincide with key dates in Holy Week:
For today is Palm Sunday. This day celebrates the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.🎉
"The large crowd that had come for the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem; they took the palm branches and went out to meet him, crying, 'Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! "John 12:12
Here is an excerpt from a TV series broadcast by CNA that illustrates this scene.
But tell me how you decorate your church on Palm Sunday? Boxwood leaves, fir, laurel, olive, green wheat, ....🌴🌲🌳🌿
CNA broadcasts the film "The Son of Tears" in Berber, Arabic and French.
This film tells the story of Augustine (354-430), a North African Berber who became a great philosopher and theologian in the Western world.
In his 'Confessions' he recounts his dissolute youth and his conversion to Christianity.
Because Augustine was curious and eager to find the path to truth, he questioned the personality of Christ.
By reading the Bible and in particular the Gospels, he experienced an intimate encounter with Jesus and was converted.
It was not easy at first to abandon the worldly life, but after a great inner struggle, he decided to clothe himself with the Lord Jesus Christ.
In 387, Augustine was baptised in a pool. The search for the truth was over and Augustine was at peace with God.
Music on the CNA TV channel is quite important, but it’s not just any music: almost all of it is in a North African language, done by N. African Christians (here are some songs in French as well). These are worship songs and evangelistic songs, done in the same contemporary style as in their communities. Many non-Christians like to watch the channel for the music as well.
In the ‘90s I helped get video projects going in Algeria, but for a long while now the Christians there are quite capable of doing it themselves.
CNA people go to North Africa to participate in music videos, but also in France, where there’s a sizeable N. African community, and therefore Christians. So when these Christians come together for conferences, CNA goes as well, recording the teaching sessions, and also the music.
Since there are also N. African Christian singers and music groups in France, it’s easy to do recording sessions with them because there are no restrictions on Christian activities.
Here’s a song called “your Servant” in the Kabyle language, done in Algeria by Algerians, which is one of the songs we broadcast.
Do you know the "red thread"? ✂
Of course, this is not some kabbalistic prayer where you tie a red thread on your left wrist to ward off the "evil eye", nor is it a Corsican superstition or an e-commerce sewing site...🧷
It is a prayer chain for persecuted Christians around the world. 🌎
And like OPEN DOORS, the international Christian NGO, we want to create at our level, a chain of prayers between us, missionaries of AWM / CNA and you, who have supported us for so many years.
On December 26, we sent you an e-mail to pray for sensitive issues. 🙏
If you wish, we can send you a "red thread" by e-mail in case of emergency. 🚨
"I urge you, therefore, before all else, to make prayers, supplications, petitions, and thanksgiving for all men [...]" 1 Tim 2:1.
Very soon you will receive our New Year's newsletter with 3 prayer topics.
To receive it in your mailbox, please let us know!
And once again, we wish you a year 2023 🎉 filled with small and big happinesses in the way of our Lord Jesus.
Heating or Sunday Roast, what to choose? 🙄
Once upon a time, there was a missionary couple who wondered last winter how to heat their home without blowing their budget...
- With the oil-fired boiler already installed? A ruin : 2500 euros for the winter alone...
- A heat pump? Ah yes, but it had to be installed by a professional and subsidies included, it cost the modest sum of 13,000 euros...
- Or else spend half an hour getting dressed to look like an overweight snowman! ⛄
Martin works from home all day, even late at night, and is mostly static as a frozen tree.
If you go to work in a warm office, it's a lot nicer!
The idea was to find a second-hand wood-burning stove, install it ourselves and then find a great friend who owns a piece of forest to cut wood together!
As in England, soaring energy prices are leading some French people to take out credit to pay energy bills. 😣
Eat or heat, you have to choose...
This year, it is very cold in Alsace. In Soultzeren in the morning, it is -10°C ! 🥶
Let us pray for each other, that this energy crisis will not be a hindrance to the missionary work of many. 🙏
Do you speak Arabic ? Very good if you do! But which Arabic are we talking about ? 🤨
It turns out that there are a lot of different versions, and one of the furthest away from classical Arabic is the Hassaniya dialect, spoken in Mauretania.
I’ve been asked to translate the testimony of a lady who lives in Mauretania into English subtitles so that it can be edited and have other footage added where appropriate, before it’s ready to be broadcast. That’s because there aren’t many who can understand the language, so the editors can follow what she says by referring to the English subtitles. It’s going to be a challenge because I’m not familiar with that dialect, so I’m hoping to do it with God’s grace by comparing it to Moroccan Arabic plus the (few) Berber words that I’ve picked up.
Thank you for your interest in the mission and your prayers. 🙏🤗
Our next newsletter (sent by email) will obviously talk about Christmas ! 🎄🧸🎁
In the shoes of a CNA TV programmer... Good morning ! This is what occupies my working days...
I never thought I would work alone at home !🏠
First, a little background:
- 2013: After 30 years of teamwork at the Ecole Radio Biblique de Marseille, I started part-time video editing with CNA in my mother-in-law's cellar in Allauch.
- 2017: In Alsace, I manage CNA's satellite TV broadcasts full-time.
So, in your pyjamas all day, unshaven and unkempt? Going back and forth between the Nespresso machine and the video office?😬
There is a bit of that, yes, but the big challenge is to plan your week and keep commitments, without a boss behind me to say what to do, set priorities and deadlines.
2 main constraints: 📝
- make sure that the CNA chain works, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
- That the programming is always done in advance
What about sport in all of this? No more cycling to work (35 minutes), so instead, beautiful hikes in the Alsatian mountains.🚴♂️🚶♂️
Keep following me on my page "Martin Mohr Ministry" to receive news, videos and prayer points🙏
