MUOC 成立于 2014 年，是 Yew Souf 的心血结晶。他将自己的艺术天赋、对自然的热爱和爱国的热忱转化为创意手工艺品。他大多的灵感都大来自于马来西亚丰富的自然和文化遗产。

MUOC一直在马来貘保护和马来西亚文化保护方面投入大量精力。

Founded in 2014, MUOC is the brainchild of Yew Souf. He transformed his artistic talent, love of nature and patriotism into creative handicrafts. Much of his inspiration comes from Malaysia's rich natural and cultural heritage.

MUOC has been putting a lot of effort into the conservation of Malayan tapirs and the conservation of Malaysian culture.

Appreciation Week Stories #1
"When he leaves" / Tan Tze Jian

My dad has always been a wise and kind man to me, until he left us, he still is.

Dad was tall, big hands, and quiet. I think I am an optimistic person mostly because of him. He was always calm when mum was yelling, like everything was under his control. As I grew, I know that it’s not that, he just knew that things happen for a reason, and there’s no point fighting against it.

Dad was a hardworking person. We were always waiting for him to get home so we could watch the TV together. Even though he was always busy, he was always there for us. He drove us around, bought snacks and suppers, and we would always be there for every occasion.

Dad was a wise man and a good listener, most probably because mum just never listened. He listened to all our feelings and problems, gave us directions to choose instead of telling us what to do. By that, I have been growing up making my own decisions in life, and learn to be responsible about them.

One day, I forgot when, dad left. Dad was gambling, spent up all the money and left us in huge debt. Mum and dad finally decided to tell us about it when there was no other way out. Tears on everyone’s face, and dad still looked calm and quiet. God knows what mum had gone through.

Life was rough but I don’t really remember much about it.

This might be odd, but I’ve never hated my dad, I never held a grudge against him. I think dad made his mistake and he has to be responsible about it, and all these happened for a reason. And all we can do is either to live with resentment or just let it go. But just like any other decisions in life, it was never easy. It was heart breaking, living in fear and there was always this question: “why us?”.

We soldiered through all the difficulties as time flew by. My mum is the strongest woman I know. I am never shy or embarrassed to share about my dad with others. I think he just made a mistake, and he is trying to make up for it.

But there is this one thing that I have always regretted, not expressing my feelings to him enough. If I knew that dad will be gone from our lives that early, I would have hugged him more, talked to him more, spent more time with him, and definitely said I love you more. Because even though I said I have never hated him, I’m not sure if I can still do the same if I have the chance now.

欢迎来到漫慢

我想大家对我们应该不是很熟悉，毕竟我们也没有好好地介绍过我们自己，所以我们也想在这里和大家做个自荐 🙂

创办漫慢的目的是什么？

我们想创造一个平台，或者我们想把它称为一个空间。在这个属于大家的空间里，我们与家人，朋友，甚至是某个角落的陌生人互相分享交流。

分享与交流的目的？我们相信大家心里各自都会有一些想法或观点可是平时却不知道与谁分享。又或者从创作者的作品例如音乐，电影或者文字中得到的启发情绪却无处分享。而对于我们来说，最重要的是大家各自看起来平淡无奇的生活，很有可能唤起别人的情感与共鸣，让大家从不同的观点找到生活中失去的情感与意义。

通过这些交流，我们希望大家可以从不同的角度与观点去重新感受自己的生活。所以我们想为大家创立一个空间，一个大家可以漫无目的，慢下脚步的空间。

这个平台/空间真的可以提供什么吗？

我们对于空间的创立与内容的分享还在探讨中，可是可以确定的是我们会一直需要大家的支持与鼓励。

我们觉得最有趣也最让我们期待的是我们欢迎各位参与我们的空间，也鼓励大家与我们分享你们的生活故事，观点想法，或者是任何对你有启发的作品和情感。或许你可能觉得那只是你普通平凡的生活，可是那些故事对别人来说可能是很好的启发点。无论你想分享作品，文章，又或者是想让我们听听你的故事，我们都欢迎。我们也会尽力把你想传递给大家的讯息用最适合的方式去与大家分享。

大致上差不多就这样，希望大家可以期待和关注我们的作品。我们也希望大家会喜欢这个空间，在这个空间找到一些感慨与启发。

We know the creation of this page is abrupt and we sure never introduced ourselves in a proper way. So here we are to say hi and to welcome everyone to this space! 🙂

The purpose of this page?

We are trying to create a platform, or we prefer to call it a space. It’s a space where we share and interact with each others, friends, families, strangers or people from far away who we never thought we can connect with.

And why do we connect? Because we might share the same idea, thoughts or stories that have no where to be told. We might also have found inspirations from the same creations by people, music, movies, art or articles. And for what we care the most, people might find some love and affection from your stories about your life that seems very simple or normal to you.

With these interactions, we hope everyone can find a new perspective to rethink about our life. And lastly, we’re building a space, a common space where everyone can take a break and slow life down, and finally live your life.

What should you expect from the page?

We do not have a confirmed answer for this but we do need your support! We are building the platform through various medium.

First of all, videos. We are currently working on a series of interview videos. These interview videos tell either stories or a meaningful message that the interviewee would like to deliver. We also hope to create more series of videos in the future so that we can deliver more ideas or messages in the most appropriate way.

The second medium is articles. Some ideas or messages, are better delivered with words. We’ll be sharing our own articles. The articles could be a message we would like to share, an interesting idea or the inspirations we got from other people’s creation (movie or music etc).

The fun and exciting part that we are looking forward to is we are inviting everyone to join us! We welcome everyone to share your amazing stories with us, they might be normal or simple to you but your stories might be inspirational to someone around the world you’ll never know. It doesn’t matter if you are trying to share your stories or written articles, we’ll do our best to deliver the message for you.

So that’s about it, stay tuned and we hope you’ll enjoy this little space and able to find some love and peace here.

大家好！我是永盛，漫慢的创办人之一。首先，欢迎来到漫慢，一个可以让你聆听他人的故事，同时让你慢下脚步的空间。既然如此，那么，请允许我向你分享我与漫慢起始的故事。

在这个庞大信息量的时代，我相信各式各样的媒界在很多时候都有能力激发我们的思维能力，例如来自于线上线下的图像、看到的影像与听到的音讯、书上的文字或邮件里的广告传单等等。这些看似微不足道的各种内容，其实在不知不觉中已经成为我们生活中的一部分。然而，有一天我们会在与好友的聚会中无意间提起这些话题，比如昨天在Netflix观赏的新电影、睡前在Youtube刷到的生活小技能视频、在脸书看到有人分享关于一个年轻有为的百万富翁之史的帖子等等。在这些谈话中，你们所讨论的某个观点或许会让你收获一些启发，这甚至包括一些让你开怀大笑又无伤大雅的废话。

不瞒你说，以上我所陈述的都确实在我周遭发生过，而正因如此让我发现原来我和我的朋友的思维与观点有这么多相似点。曾经，我一直以为自己是个很特别的人。之所以那么认为是因为我们这一代听过最多的一句话不外乎是“不要认为自己没有用、天生我才必有用、每个人都是独一无二的”之类的话。换言之，这也间接使得现阶段的我还在努力摸索要怎么做才能成为一个成熟的大人，毕竟现实和梦想的差距就是，我们必须说服自己我们一点也不特别，我们不是完美的，而那是绝对OK的。因此，我决定创办漫慢这个页面，我希望透过漫慢，人们得以在此分享他们这一路的经历与看法，借此唤醒苟且过着每一天的多数人：我们再也平凡不过，但我们无须为此怀疑自己的价值。

我的工作性质是一名透过影像说故事的人，这是我自8岁以来的热忱，当时的我看了两部印象深刻的电影，让我被影视业这个行业的魅力深深吸引，也成就了我现在的职业道路。我希望，当我在做着我所热忱的事物同时也可以用这种方式把故事呈现出来在大家眼前。通过创立漫慢，它为我提供一个空间，一个可以让我用我所学到的技能，以及我对这个世界的情感，让大家在这里停下脚步分享与聆听故事的空间。对我而言，故事之所以强大因为它总有让我们感同身受的地方，我希望路过的你也能在这里找到共鸣，激发灵感并思考人生。我并不是希望你一定要改变你的人生，但是，我希望你能在这繁忙的节奏里给自己一些喘息的时间，放慢脚步，寻思自己内心的声音。

Greetings! I’m Yong Sheng, one of the founders of this page. Firstly, I wish you a warm welcome to ManMan/SlowSoul - a space for you to slow down your pace of life while enjoying stories of anyone, literally. Hence, please allow me to begin with a little story of mine on the initiative to embark on a new adventure here at SlowSoul.

In this era where information and knowledge are easily accessible, much of our time is constantly fed with ‘stimuli of thoughts’ - through images you saw online or offline, moving images or sound you see and hear on or off-screen, texts you saw on books or advert fliers posted to your mailbox and countless more. These stimuli somehow make their way into our mind unintentionally and one day, you called your friends out and yamcha to talk about it (of course not during MCO lah…). You started to talk about movies you saw the previous day on Netflix, life hack tips on Youtube you saw before you go to bed, or news about a young millionaire that people shared on Facebook. These talks would usually turn into something either inspirational to you or even nonsenses that would make you laugh your ass off the entire day when you think about it anytime in your life.

Well, what I said above actually happened in my real life, and that was when I realized that I didn’t know my friends and I shared many thoughts and perspectives until we talked about it. I used to think that I’m very special because my generation was brought up being told that ‘don’t feel useless of yourself, you are always special'. Somehow, this became a little bit problematic to me who is still learning the ropes of adulting. Because, in reality, we have to accept that we can be NOT special at all, can be full of FLAWS and that’s COMPLETELY OKAY. And thus, this thought sparked me to initiate this page. I wish that through this page, people can share their stories and thoughts, in the hope to inspire others to realize that we are actually more common than we think, and IT’S COMPLETELY OKAY to think about that.

My nature of work is a storyteller in visual form. It is a passion that impacted my career choice today ever since watching two movies that made me fall in love with the craft when I was 8. My wish is to tell stories while doing what I am passionate about. And creating SlowSoul provides me with a space to put my skills in a more personal and relatable way to share stories of people, to people who stop by our page. Stories, in my perspective, are very powerful in creating resonances and I wish that you can find resonances that would give you sparks of thoughts about your life here. I do not wish you to feel that you MUST make a change in your life, but instead, I do wish that you could slow down and give yourself time to feel and think about your life here.

Lastly, please stay with us and look at life differently here slowly… slowly… and ‘soul’-ly.

我是子健，今年25岁，还在寻找生活的方向。 想要创办漫慢因为我觉得现在的人都忙着为了生活而生活，很少人真正去思考为了什么而活着。 当然我无法为其他人定义生活的意义，所以我想透过不同的故事，让大家可以用不同的观点看同一件事。 我相信当有一天人发现世界很大，自己很渺小时，我们都会学习珍惜我们所拥有的一切，也会更快乐。

Hi guys Tze Jian here! I'm one of the co-founder of the page. I wanted to start this platform because I enjoy listening to people's stories and see things through their perspective. I always got inspired and question about the things I've been believing after listening to amazing stories. Through this platform, I hope we can share more amazing stories with more people. And with those stories, I wish everyone can find some peace and love in life. I always believe that when people realize life is too short, and the world is too big, everyone will be much happier. 🙂
