There are quite a few new people here so I will take this as an opportunity to reintroduce myself!

HI! My name is Allessia and I am the owner of 6 Degrees of Social. 6° is a full-service Social Media Marketing Agency located in Hudson, QC, the small but beautiful town I have called home for the majority of my life.

I went to school for Fashion Marketing (this was 2007 and Social Media for business was not exactly a thing just yet) but fell in love and moved to NYC for almost 5 years. While living in NYC was incredible, moving there did leave me 4 credits shy of graduating.

It was in the midst of the pandemic and after having my son that I started to question what I wanted to do with my life as he was getting older and wouldn't be as dependent on me once school started. It's then in September of 2020 that I decided to launch my very own business.

Having worked in the Digital Marketing space for several years at that point and moving from small boutique to corporate positions, I knew I didn't want to work in a cubicle and that I wanted to focus on helping small businesses digitally blossom.

It has been almost 4 years, 30+ clients of varying collaborations and over a decade in the industry and I am grateful every single to have a career I absolutely adore.

Social Media gets a bad wrap and when used irresponsibly can be a dark and toxic place. That being said, I love working with businesses of all sizes and providing them with the proper tools to create intentional content, make authentic connections and grow lead generating communities.

Every January so many of us are setting goals for the new year ahead, reevaluating basically everything in our lives and we are prioritizing what feels most important.

As the high of the new year buzz fades, dark passangers like self-doubt and imposter syndrome may begin trickle in. So with January wrapping up, I thought it would be a good idea to remind you that you're doing great. Keep going. Keep doing what feels good and remember to go a little easier on yourself 🩷

Each time you chose a new experience over fear, you build up your courage.

I am a creature of habit and I thrive on routine. That being said, life is constantly unexpected. Even in my 30's, I am still learning how to cope and adapt.

I was approached with a great opportunity that will take place this Spring and while I am a little anxious, I am more excited and grateful for this opportunity!

Nothing gives me the social media ICK like seeing links in captions 🤯

To my surprise, I noticed over the holidays a large amount of brand accounts doing this. In all seriousness, aside from this being a pet peeve to Social Media Managers, it is also doing your brand a disservice.

Not only are links in captions not clickable but when using a mobile device (which 95% of social media users do), you can't even copy and paste the link. This makes your efforts to drive anyone to a specific website obsolete.

Here's what you should be doing;
Either add 1 link to your bio or create a hyperlink and add multiple relevant links. You can then use call-to-actions to drive your community and clients to your desired websites.

✶ See the link in our bio! (simple and effective)
✶ Head to our stories to find out more! (add a clickable link)
✶ DM us for more information and a surprise! (send them the link directly. This feels personal and tailors the experience)

When was the last time you invested in your business?

"Branding is the process of connecting good strategy with good creativity." While I have the strategy part down, even I can admit I need help with the creative side when it comes to my own brand.

Enter ! Aside from outsourcing to accountants and mentors, hiring a trusted photographer like Catherine is a great way to reinvestment into your own company.
