NFT Titan OpenSea to Support Credit Card Payments

OpenSea will now support credit and debit card payments through a partnership with MoonPay. The NFT titan, which recently hit a $13.3 billion valuation in its Series C funding round, will integrate MoonPay’s NFT Checkout service to allow instant credit and debit card purchases, MoonPay announced in a Friday blog post .

Previously, OpenSea users had to get hold of cryptocurrency to buy NFTs on the marketplace.

Cryptocurrencies are "part of the popular consciousness and poised for additional growth" — especially in emerging markets, according to a new report from Visa.

Visa has broken down consumers into five categories — and while 37% are "unengaged" with crypto, 11% are skeptics. This leaves 21% who are curious about how they work, 11% who are passive owners, and 21% who are more active. In its report, the company says:
"Crypto is moving from a niche asset class for a small community of investors to a broader market increasingly accessible for mainstream and new adopters."

Those who own digital assets are typically motivated by their desire to build wealth, while those completing transactions with cryptocurrencies like being able to sidestep punishing conversion fees and make payments at any time.

Elon Musk has been named TIME magazine's person of the year.

TIME notes that he's now a player in everything from robotic technology to solar energy — and yes, the world of cryptocurrencies.

Musk caused Bitcoin to spike in February when he announced that Tesla had purchased $1.5 billion in BTC to hold in reserve — and that the electric vehicle maker would accept it as a payment method.

But Musk was also responsible for some pretty dramatic pullbacks. BTC slumped after he tweeted that its price seemed "too high." And an even worse crash happened when Tesla abandoned BTC as a payment method over environmental concerns.

Ubisoft Adds NFTs to 'Ghost Recon: Breakpoint' Game

Non-fungible tokens haven't really appeared in mainstream games — until now.

Ubisoft, one of the world's biggest developers, has announced that NFTs will play a starring role in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.
The company is behind other popular franchises such as Assassin's Creed and Far Cry.

Known as Digits, players will be able to get their hands on coveted in-game items, each complete with their own serial number. Gamers will then be able to buy and sell them freely.

98-year-old print magazine and news organization TIME launched Ethereum NFTs based on its iconic red-bordered magazine covers, and generated $446,000 worth of ETH.

TIME President Keith Grossman they were looking for a way to integrate NFTs and Web3 tech to “change the relationship we have with consumers.”
