Consequent upon the testimonies from the first Balloon Technology Drainage System constructed within the first phase of my administration, we embarked on the second channel spanning along Works Layout.
I am gladdened over the pace of work at the site as observed during my project inspection, yesterday. The rainy season avails a great opportunity of identifying and arresting all waterways into the drainage systems.
Gradually, we are winning the fight against flooding even as the Akwakuma waterways desilting advances with the target of channeling flood into the Nworie river.
We ascribe quality on all constructions for the purpose of durability and value for public funds spent on projects. The effectiveness of this project is such that upon completion, the ravaging flood along the routes would be a thing of the past.

I am deeply honored to swear in the Chief Judge of Imo State, His Lordship Hon. Justice Theresa Eberechukwu Chukwuemeka-Chikeka; the President of the Customary Court of Appeal, His Lordship Hon. Justice Victor Okorie and other new Judges as recommended by the National Judicial Council (NJC).
I most respectfully congratulate the new Justices on this meritorious milestone in their profession. As a call to service, especially with the current yearnings for judicial reform, I am confident that by your credibility and eminence, an impactful reform would be recorded.
While it's constitutionally recognized as an independent arm of Government, the Judiciary still needs synergy and partnership with the other arms. As the Executive arm of Imo State Government, we have enthroned partnership across board for delivery of good governance to the people. We shall not relent in the sustenance of this harmonious partnership for the interest of our society.

We embarked on a verification exercise for secondary school teachers today, across Imo State. This is in line with our desire to constantly improve on the quality of education available to the students.
Our target is to automate the records of our secondary school teachers for the purpose of staffing, proper placement, subsequent recruitment, promotions, welfare and benefit settlement.
From my preliminary study of this system and my field observation today, I have no doubt in its ability to impact on the quality of education to our students and the future development of our State. I therefore, commend the teachers for their co-operation with the Government and for the smooth conduct of the exercise.

The impact of Inter-Agency collaboration in addressing contemporary security challenges in our nation can never be overemphasized.
As beneficiaries to the gallantry of our security agencies, as a Government, we cannot but attest to the productivity of intelligence sharing across all agencies in the fight against insecurity and criminality in our State.
As we, therefore, commemorate this year's Army Day Celebration, may I convey my support for the formulation of a framework to promote inter-agency collaboration among our security agencies. I also urge the Nigerian military to promote a healthier Military-Civilian relationship in their operations as we partner in upholding peace and security in our society.

FORMER ADAPALM WORKERS RECEIVE THEIR SEVERANCE BENEFITS FROM ROCHE AGRIC INVESTORS
Investors of Roche Agric in agreement with Imo State Government have brought to an end, the legal tussle between former employees of Adapalm, as they receive their severance benefits together with the families of deceased employees.
Since 2011, these employees have continued to engage in their agitation by appealing to the State Government under the administration of H.E. Rochas Okorocha over their severance benefits, but to no avail as they were subjected to series of verification exercises without being paid not until this current administration of Gov. Hope Uzodimma.
The Committee headed by Hon. Gideon Meffor has conclusively engaged with the various stakeholders which has resulted to the success of the workers getting their severance benefits while Roche Agric is willing to now reabsorb those willing to work for them as well as employment opportunities offered to indigenes of the host communities.
Former Adapalm workers and the members of the host communities have continued to appreciate Roche Agric investors and the Government of Imo State for their sincerity and commitment towards resolving the aged-long industrial dispute as they have pledged their loyalty and support towards the new management of Adapalm.

GOV. UZODIMMA REACTS TO THE SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT OF APC
His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has reacted to the Supreme Court ruling between Mr. Daniel Nwafor and Chief Marcellinus Nlemigbo.
Governor Uzodimma in his response to journalists in Owerri, disclosed that all the Supreme Court did was to dismiss an appeal that has long expired against an FCT High Court judgement that recognized Mr. Dan Nwafor against Marcellinus Nlemigbo.
According to the Governor, there was no consequential order by the Supreme Court leaving McDonald Ebere PhD as still the Chairman of the APC in Imo State hence the status bar nature of the ruling.
The Governor siting the Supreme Court judgment in Sheriff VS Markarfi, disclosed that the National Convention is the highest decision making body of the party and the convention, having ratified the new Exco, it becomes Law.

GOV. UZODIMMA REASSURES ORLU ZONE OF SAFETY AND DEVELOPMENT
His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has reassured the safety of lives and properties of Orlu zone and the *State* at large.
Governor Hope Uzodimma in his expression of concern on the happenings in the region, made the affirmation at the Orlu Zone Development Forum Summit on Peace and Development held at Nkwerre Country Club.
At the peace and development summit, the Governor had warned aggrieved Politicians to embrace peace and shun sponsorship of *violence.*
To such politicians he said, ‘’I cannot be intimidated because I have come to serve and would like to be remembered for good governance and lasting legacies that will mark me out from other politicians who are self-centered and self-seeking."
The Governor advised the Forum on the need to set-up a think-tank that would develop a blue-print on the needed sustained peace and development in Orlu.
The Governor further reiterated his divine mandate and leadership from God on Ndi Imo as he will not fail God or the people of Imo State to ensure peace and development not only to the Orlu region but the entire State.

I received, with rude shock, the unfortunate loss of lives at the pipeline explosion in Ohaji/Egbema as a result of illegal bunkering activities around the region.
This is one of the unexpected occurrences that has informed our campaign and fight against criminality and banditry in our society. I have been consistent in preaching against any practice that could lead to national economic sabotage and jeopardy.
While it remains pathetic that lives have been lost, this unfortunate incident calls for a redress by all who are in that illicit practice, to turn a new leaf and save lives.
At my instance, the Imo State Commissioner for Petroleum, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nanah Opiah visited the affected area and we shall review the breached protocols and implement necessary procedures to avert a reoccurrence.

PRESIDENT BUHARI TO COMMISSION THE OWERRI / ORLU AND OWERRI / OKIGWE ROADS UPON COMPLETION
His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) has graciously approved to commission the ongoing construction of Owerri-Orlu and Owerri-Okigwe roads upon completion next month.
This was disclosed by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma after a courtesy visit to Mr President at the Villa for a progress report on the ongoing road constructions and projects in the State.
It is therefore worthy of note that the roads which are Federal roads are currently being reconstructed by Imo State Government with dual carriage for the Owerri-Orlu road and expanded width for the Owerri-Okigwe road, as approved by Mr President.

His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma together with a host of Igbo leaders gathered in solidarity for the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Professor George Obiozor whose country home was set ablaze.
Governor Uzodimma at the solidarity banquet held in honour of the President-General, condemned the destructive acts and killings by brothers against brothers, stressing that the destructive approach of sending a message is not Igbo.
The Governor maintained the Gospel of “dialogue and not violence” as the means to the desired destination of Ndi Igbo. He further stressed that self destruction and violence has never made any race great but can be likened to a man who urinates into a well he drinks from.
Governor Uzodimma called on all well meaning Igbo leaders and youths to “think together, plan together and pursue the cause of justice for Igbos in Nigeria. He also called on all the kingmakers and patriots of the country to help wipe the historical tears of the South East.

URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT: IMSU JUNCTION FULLY IMPROVED
The Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has delivered yet another milestone on its robust Urban Renewal drive.
The latest in the series of urban renewal achievements is the Imo State University (IMSU) Junction. The junction which has had a complete structural reconstruction, now has additional features like functional traffic lights and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras for traffic control and management.
These improvements of IMSU junction, in line with the reconstruction, rehabilitation and recovery (3R) mandate of Gov. Uzodimma, has transformed the ever-busy and congested IMSU Junction to a free flowing artery, with road users adhering to the new traffic management regime.
This development has been warmly received by residents of the State and is being viewed as a vital step forward in the ongoing work of changing the governance narrative of Imo State.
