Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh's star cricketer, is in legal trouble after a Dhaka court issued an arr_est warrant for him over a dishonoured cheque case involving IFIC Bank.

The 37-year-old, who has been living abroad since August 2024, failed to appear in court after being implicated in the case on December 15, 2024.

Shakib, along with three others, is acc_used of not fulfilling a BDT 41.4 million (around 4.14 crore Tk) debt via two cheques.

His company, Al Hasan Agro Farm Ltd., took loans from IFIC Bank and issued the cheques, which were returned due to insufficient funds.

Pakistan is contemplating the inclusion of Abdullah Shafique in place of the out-of-form Fakhar Zaman for the upcoming World Cup 2023 match against Sri Lanka.

Fakhar Zaman's recent performance has raised concerns, as he has struggled to score runs in his last 12 innings, with a highest score of 33 in May 2023.

While a final decision is yet to be made, the team management is considering a change to address the batting concerns. The decision is expected on the match day.

بتایا گیا کہ بچوں کی عمریں بارہ سے اٹھارہ کے درمیان ہونگی۔۔
ایک ماں خود سے ممتا کو کیسے جدا کرسکتی ہے۔
۔۔۔۔۔۔پھر ماں تو سانجھی ہوتی ہے۔
سینٹرل جیل میں صاف ستھرے شامیانے کے نیچے قالین پر بیٹھے وہ تین سو قیدی بچے تھے۔
انھیں سیرت رسولﷺ کا پیغام دینا تھا۔
جب نعت شریفﷺ پڑھی جارہی تھی تو بچے خود بھی زیر لب پڑھ رھے تھے۔
کچھ بچے جھوم رہے تھے اور میں آسمان کی طرف منہ کیے زیر لب کہ رہی تھی کہ۔۔۔ہیں تو تیرے رسولﷺ کی امت, اگر یہ یہ خطاکار ہیں تو گنہگار تو ہم سب ہیں۔
شاید ان سے زیادہ گناہوں کا بوجھ کندھوں پر لیے پھر رہے ہیں ۔
ان کا تو کوئی معلوم جرم قانون کی نظر میں اگیا۔۔
ہمارے تو کتنے جرائم کی پردہ پوشی رب نے کر رکھی ہے۔

بچوں نے انہماک سے گفتگو کو سنا۔
بچوں کی انکھوں سے انسو جاری ہوجاتے جب ان کے والدین کا تذکرہ آتا۔۔
ماں نے کھانا نہیں کھایا ہے,بابا بے مقصد گلیوں کے چکر کاٹتا ہے کہ شاید میرا لال یہیں کہیں چھپ گیا ہے۔بھاؤ کہ کر ایک دم سامنے آجائے گا۔
ایک پیارا بچہ اصلاح گھر میں اپنی اصلاح کرنے آیا ہے نا,اچھے بچے بن کر جانا ہے اب۔۔۔بچے یک زبان کہتے ان شاءاللہ۔
یہ جوان بچے, توانائی بھرے جسم, امنگوں,آرزوؤں کی عمریں۔۔۔
نامعلوم کیا جرم ہوا کہ یہاں تک اگئے۔
یہاں اسے "اصلاح گھر"کہا جاتا ہے ۔
اصلاح کی تمام تر کوشش کی جاتی ہے۔
ویمن اسلامک لائرز فورم بھی پوری طرح سرگرم ہے ان بچوں کے تزکیہ و تربیت کے لیے, احترام انسانیت کی بحالی کے لیے۔
بچوں نے بار بار ہاتھ اٹھائے کہ وہ اچھے بچے بنیں گے۔
"آپ سب پاکستان کا مستقبل ہیں۔
آپ کی روشن پیشانی پر پاکستان لکھا ھے ,آپ ہمارا روشن کل ہیں۔۔
گناہ تو حضرت آدمؑ سے بھی ھوا انھوں نے رب سے کہا "مجھے توبہ کے کلمات سکھا۔"
اللہ نے سکھادیے۔ ہمیں قران میں بتا دیے گیے۔ہم بھی وھی پڑھ کر مغفرت مانگتے ہیں۔
میرے بچو! گناہ پر اصرار شیطان بنا دیتا ہے ۔
آپ نے ایسا نہیں کرنا۔
بچے زور سے پرعزم آواز میں ان شاءللہ کہتے رہے۔
بعد ازاں سپرٹنڈنٹ جیل محترمہ شیبا سے ملاقات ھوئی جنھوں نے پورا پروگرام اٹینڈ کیا۔۔
ایک مہربان دل رکھنے والی خاتوں جو ہر دم جیل کے بچوں اور عورتوں کے لیے سوچتی رہتی ہیں۔
میں نے پوچھا کہ" بچوں کا عمومی جرم کیا پوتا ہے"؟
بولیں" یہ بیشتر ٹوٹے ھوئے گھروں کے بچے ہیں۔
ماں باپ میں علیحدگی ہوئی ماں چھوڑ کر چلی گئ۔
باپ نے دوسری شادی کی تو سوتیلی ماں کے ظلم سے بچہ بھاگ کھڑا ھوا۔
کہیں سوتیلے باپ نے بچے کو بےگار یہ لگادیا۔
کہیں ماں باپ کے جھگڑوں اور گھریلوتشدد سےمجبور بچے گھر سے نکل جاتے ہیں۔۔
کہیں غربت بھی مجرم بنا دیتی ہے۔آٹھ نو بہن بھائی گھر میں کھانے کو نہ ہو,تعلیم کے مواقع بھی نہ ہوں تو جرم ہی بچتا ہے۔
انکی باتیں سنتے ہوئے میں سوچ رہی تھی ان کے سامنے تو ایسے بچوں کی ہزاروں کہانیاں ھونگی۔
ماں باپ کی علیحدگی میں بچے پس جاتے ہیں۔
بچوں کی شخصیت کی تکمیل کے لیے والدین ناگزیر ہیں۔
طلاق و خلع کی شرح جس تیزی سے بڑھ رہی ہے
یوں جانیں کہ ہر آنے والا بچہ والدین کی طرف حسرت سے دیکھ رپا ھے کہ "خدارا میری خاطر جڑ کر رہنا ہے۔"

Karakoram Highway connecting Pakistan to China

Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir said on Saturday the armed forces would not tolerate any further attempt to violate the sanctity of their installations or vandalism and resolved to bring to justice all the planners, abetters, instigators and executors of vandalism on May 9.

During his visit to the Peshawar Corps HQ, the COAS addressed the officers of the Corps and highlighted the evolving threats to Pakistan's national security.
He said, “We shall continue with our endeavors of peace and stability and there will be no room for spoilers of the process.

The Armed Forces will not tolerate any further attempt of violating the sanctity and security of its installations or vandalism and resolved to bring to justice all the planners, abetters, instigators and executors of vandalism on the Black Day of 9th May."

Nafisa Kamal, owner of Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), is interested in buying a team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

According to Bangladeshi reporter Fahim Rahman, Nafisa is among the people interested in securing one of the franchises in the PSL.

However, it is unlikely that there will be additional teams in the PSL during the next two seasons due to the agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the current six franchises.

“There is immense pressure to increase the number of teams in PSL, but unfortunately Ehsan Mani and Ramiz Raja made an agreement with the franchises that only six teams will play in the next two years. However, it was an eight-team project. We have to convince the franchises to include two more teams. No one will lose anything, and if a franchise suffers a loss, the PCB will take responsibility,” Sethi said in February earlier this year.

The woman branch manager of a private bank resigned after stealing Rs20 million of a customer in Islamabad, reported sources

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) registered a case under Section 420 against the woman branch manager in the light of the evidence.

“The manager fraudulently withdrew Rs20 million from the account of a customer,” the text of the FIR read.

“When the customer was informed of a transaction of Rs20 million, the woman manager comforted him by showing him a fake bank statement,” it added.

Sections 409, 419, 468, 471 and 489F were also included in the FIR.

A team of young Pakistani agricultural scientists at the National Research Center of Intercropping (NRCI), the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) are researching on strip intercropping technologies with the hope to help their country shrink the import bill of food commodities especially soybean, which already is a huge burden on Pakistan's economy.

It's remarkable that the ongoing work there originated from their collaboration with China, but has been optimized specially for Pakistan based on the country's realities, which has been a shining model of Sino-Pak cooperation in both scientific research and educational exchange.

Since 2018, Dr. Muhammad Ali Raza, a post-doc who is graduated from Sichuan Agricultural University (SAU), China, has started to promote China's maize-soybean strip intercropping technology in Pakistan with his professor Yang Wenyu's support and guidance, which has received good response particularly from local industrialists and progressive farmers in the recent years. After years of hard work, he has become a productive agronomist and expert in intercropping research in Pakistan.

Under the vision of the IUB Vice Chancellor Prof. Athar Mahboob, the National Research Center of Intercropping was inaugurated on August 11, 2021 to introduce strip intercropping technologies in Pakistan's agriculture to improve crop yields and soil productivity. Now, Dr. Muhammad Ali Raza acts as the Director of the center, leading intercropping technology's popularization in Pakistan.

To date, the center has already developed and optimized the Chinese maize-soybean strip intercropping technology according to local conditions, and conducted trials on the wheat-soybean strip intercropping. Moreover, to further enhance resource use efficiency and land productivity from the sugar belt of Pakistan, the center is working on developing sugarcane-based intercropping systems. Recently, the center conducted trials of sugarcane- and wheat-based strip intercropping systems including rapeseed, soybean, clover, and chickpea as secondary crops, with developing the intercropping-specific varieties of these crops. The center is also conducting research on the different row configurations, particularly the wider strips, with an objective to encourage the mechanization of strip intercropping systems with existing farm machinery in Pakistan.

Following the slogan of "Think Globally, Act Locally", Sino-Pak cooperation is a special feature of NRCI. The center has signed multi-dimensional MoUs with Sichuan Agricultural University (SAU), Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences (GAAS), and Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences (SAAS) to exchange resources, researchers and students, and also has initiated collaboration with the National Soybean Center (NSC), Agro-ecology and Conservation Lab, and Molecular Biology Lab at Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU). It's learned that the research at NRCI on the development and optimization of maize-soybean strip intercropping technology using water-saving technologies like drip irrigation is sponsored entirely by GAAS. Later on, GAAS will also help in the transfer and dissemination of the developed technology in Pakistan.

In addition, presently, there are eight researchers in total at NRCI including four agronomists, two breeders, two soil scientists, and one crop modeler, among which five graduated from top-notch Chinese agricultural universities including Sichuan Agricultural University and Nanjing Agricultural University on Chinese scholarships for their Ph.D. studies. Having been well groomed and trained in the strip-intercropping research and molecular physiology of the crops, they are applying what they learned in China to developing Pakistan's agriculture sector.


"Learning from Chinese experience through bilateral cooperation would surely train and groom Pakistanis to fight against the current economic calamity. Particularly, the support of China in agricultural education and training would surely boost agricultural productivity in Pakistan, which will not only stabilize the economic condition of the country but also provide a nearby and cheaper food source to China that could reduce food security pressure on China," Dr. Muhammad Ali Raza said with the vision of achieving a win-win situation via Sino-Pak agricultural cooperation.
