The African Mobile Network in Collaboration with Lonestar Cell MTN has installed a mobile network booster in Sand Beach Gold Camp, Kploh Chiefdom, Central River Cess Administrative District.
A Booster is a mini tower that provides Mobile Network Coverage for a limited population.
As it sands, residents in Sand Beach can now sit in their bedrooms to make and receive calls on their Lonestar number without going to a call a specific point to make a call.
Sand Beach is the largest gold mining camp with an estimated population of over 7,000 dwellers.
Residents of the are had to stand at a point before receiving network to make calls since the er****on of the Lonestar Cell MTN Tower in Zammie Town in 2012.
According to the African Mobile Network Chief Technician, the Coverage of the booster can travel about 2km distance from where it is installed.
Similarly, the African Mobile Network will in the couple of days install five additional boosters in different parts of Kploh and Monweh.
The areas according to the group include Dahn (Goyah, Karchukon and Ziadu Towns), Sayee Town, and Yolo all in Kploh and Gozohn and Kangbo Town in Monweh.
According to sources the election of the boosters in Kploh came as a result of an appeal from the community through the Community Forest Management Body (CFMB) of the Ziadu and Teekpeh Community Forest while the ones going to Monweh is through the intervention of District #1 Representative Rosannah G D H Schaack.
