An update on my absence for the folks who have been kind enough to follow my page:

First, I apologize for my absence. Quite a few people liked this page before I even had content ready to share. And thank you! But I’m sorry for the wait.

Second, I WILL still be doing a power metal podcast. But I’ve had real life responsibilities come up first. And instead of leaving the few people who have liked my page in the dark, I wanted to let you know what was going on:

I have a day job! I’m a letter carrier for the post office, and as most of the world knows, we just went through our election season. I was working long days with much more mail than we’re used to getting. On top of that, election season turned into Christmas season. So, my work during the day has taken quite a bit of my attention.

I have a night job! Well, sort of. I’m an audiobook narrator for Audible! In addition to this, I had already started another podcast with an author I’m working with. This was something I committed to before the power metal podcast and because another person is involved, I can’t ignore my duties to them.

So where does this leave us? Well, we’re still full in Christmas season, so days are heavy for me. However, I am catching up on audio content at night at a rapid pace. Which means soon, I WILL have time to record episodes for The Eternal Flame. Again, I thank each and every person who has followed my page, and I especially thank the bands and artists I’ve talked with about doing interviews for bein patient with me. I haven’t forgotten about any of you, and I look forward to bringing power metal discussion to all!

Massive "thank you" to Marius Danielsen of Marius Danielsen's Legend of Valley Doom for the page's artwork! While the podcast isn't live yet, I was able to get the artwork approved for the various platforms.

Speaking of platforms, where do you plan on listening to this? I'll be distributing through Spotify which then handles uploading to multiple OTHER platforms, but I want to make sure this will be accessible to everyone who's interested. If Spotify doesn't distribute to your platform, I will manually send your platform our RSS feed so you can listen there 🤘

Thank you to all who have begun to follow the page! Episode 1 has been recorded, however I’m going to go back and re-record some new material to add to it. Mostly shoutouts to the Power Metal reddit sub. I spoke with a few folks in there last night who had different opinions and perspectives than I did, and I LOVE that! Communication and different opinions are amazing to me, and they really help to further shape one’s OWN perspective on a subject (in our case power metal).

As for an update to actual content, I’ve sent Twilight Force and Dragonforce messages/emails to obtain permission to use their clips in the podcast along with requests for interviews. I’ve heard back from Chris Bay, Lead Singer of Freedom Call and have pending permission to use their clips in the podcast. I have CONFIRMED Victorius and Marius Danielsen's Legend of Valley Doom for interviews buuuuuuut I’ve neglected to ask them about using their music in their episodes. It probably won’t be an issue, but we always ask as a formality.

I’m expecting to record episode 2 tonight. I think I’ll keep going on episodes and once I have enough permission for clips, I’ll put over her the intro for the podcast and begin releasing.

And finally, I want YOU, the listener, to remember this: this is for power metal fans of all kinds. Opinions, perspectives, and discussion are welcome and encouraged. In the future, I will create posts to get feedback from you guys concerning future content that I will actively want listeners to partake in!
