Read a review of my book by syndicated book critic Dr. Glenville Ashby as in the Sunday Gleaner and other Caribbean newspapers.

Dr. Glenville Ashby reviewed - .....And what follows is sheer brilliance. Bell presents a Jamaica that is in political tatters, boiling over with vitriol. It is a hot bed of insurrection and wanton disregard for life. No one is spared the wrath of hooliganism, even the iconic Bob Marley. .......his language can be emotive, crisp and imaginative, rivaling the very best in the business.
Dr. Erna Brodber, author and retired lecturer in English and creative writing at the University of the West Indies said - she found the book ‘enlightening’ and it gave her ‘clarity’ and ‘insight’ into the happening in Jamaica and the world in the 1970’s and beyond.
Ripton emailed - Yes my brethren, I got the book and immediately started to read but the wife took over as soon as I put it down, so she now has the book.
Jill Fisher wrote - I just read the first chapter of your beautifully written book. I appreciate how you control the pace as I try to read faster and faster to see where this is all going.
Dave Peters wrote - BTW. 'I purchased your book last night and plan to read t over the next few days... I am 1/2 way thru the first chapter and am just getting used to your style of writing for this particular book and I have to say it is definitely unique... I mean that in a good way... I am interested in diving into it again tonight; the first sign of an interesting book... b in touch'
Dave Peters wrote (After a few chapters) "That Colin is a real bad dude"
I replied "You ain't seen yet. Wait until you meet his brother and heir Devon".
Winnifred wrote (After a few chapters) "Hi Michael.how are you? Reading your book, quietly powerful stories infused with a yearning for the past.Events are often refracted through the lens of imperfect memory entirely factually.Still reading".
I replied "It is not so much of yearning for the past as it is using the past to escape the future".
Dave Peters wrote back later "I am 90% finished and I can't believe where you took me from the first page....wild!"
Dave Peters wrote - 'I enjoyed the book in its entirety, great job! The future will be interesting to say the least. THUMBS UP!'
I wrote back - Thanks Dave. You made my day and like the good brother would say.... Amen. Blessed love and respects.
Did a remix of the book.
After all the postive feedback, I decided to let it be more than a memory recovery project and alliteratively gorged myself like a Norse poet.
This time around, lean and mean, less is more, minimalistic, frugal, and ascetic without losing the flow and the essence.
I want to get my theory out as to why Jamaicans are the best SPRINTERS and take the monkey off their backs.
I want to thank Earl Moxam for review and advise and Alma MockYen for advise, final editing, and most importantly, for INSPIRATION to redo this book absolutely.
It really blew my mind when YOU reviewed ‘Wow!! Good work – good work Michael Bell!!. So enthralling!!. Michael, I found this a mesmerizing book, and was fully engaged by the twists and turns from page 1 to (the last page). I seem to recognize a few real-life characters (LOL)'.
Any one who knows YOU Mummy Empress Alma knows that you straight up, a top class humourist, but no euphemist, and whether friend or foe, a spade is niether a fan or a blade, it is merely a teaching aid.
One LOve and Respects
