Jaman North: Disregard Cashew Fix Price Propaganda.

The Jaman North District Cashew Traders and Exporters Association's (CTEA) Secretary, Mr. Sie Kwabena Martin, has stated it emphatically on Tain FM to Anɔpa Nkɔmmɔ show host, Appiah Kubi that 2022 cashew season's farmers and buyers should disregard the propaganda statements made by some Ghanaian on the cashew minimum price that it is fixed.

According to him, the government has held several stakeholder consultations to discuss the modalities that should go into cashew pricing, and have come into conclusion with a minimum price rated at GH₵5.

In determining the minimum price, he added, the Council has taken into consideration the interests of farmers, processors, and traders of the commodity to ensure that the price that is announced does not disadvantage any group.
''The minimum price is to motivate farmers to put efforts and resources into production, which is currently reflecting in production levels, to compete with the high producer of cashew in the world'', he stated.

He therefore announced that whoever is propagating the cashew minimum price as fix price, should be seen as an enemy to Ghana's development.

He advised all farmers to make sure their seeds are very well dry, before they send them into the market and urged buyers to desist from going into the farms to buy the cashews.

News In: GES Finally Gives Date For Reopening Of Public Schools For The 2022 Academic Year.
. 12th January, 2022.

GES has Finally Given the Date For The Reopening Of Public Schools For The 2022 Academic Year
Public schools have been questioning when Ghana Education Service is planning on reopening schools for teachers and students to return to the classroom, at long last the date for Basic Schools in Ghana to reopen schools has been eventually disclosed by the Director-General of Ghana Education Service.

The Director-General of Education, in an interview on Tain 90.9 Fm, Prof Opoku-Amankwa on “Anopa mkomo” with Appiah Kubi Reuben has uncovered that the official date for the reopening of all Basic Schools ( from KG to JHS) in the country is on 18th January 2022 .
According to the Director-General, Schools were supposed to be opened on 11th January 2022 but due to the newly introduced exam which was written on 17th December 2021 last year thus the National Standardized Test for the class 4 Pupils when both JHS and Primary students and teachers were task to wait, that one week on was Compensated as promised.
The rationale for the delay in communicating this to the general public is that the management is also planning the academic calendar of those in the Senior High Schools ( both the reopening date of the freshers and that of the continuing students).

“To ensure that we get it right this time around, and avoid some of the inconveniences that occurred during the 2021 academic year about the calendar structure, a Ministerial Committee on Schools Calendar was formed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum to ensure proper planning to come out with a reliable structure,” he added.
