This is one of my favorite things I teach in .. if you are not sold you will not be very effective in selling or enrolling someone else in your vision. So if you are new to sales.. you must first sell yourself on what you are doing, and then you must think that the solution you offer is a good one that helps the customer you are talking to. In my case I teach and , which involves a lot of different skills. But I started teaching decades ago... and now I am on a mission to help even more people get to their goals!

Never let someone talk you out of something just because it scares you.. We cannot pass through fear by surpressing it. We have to sit with it and if you are my coaching student.. move towards it. Often we need to move towards it so we can see how easy it is for fear to loose it's power.

This was this time of year 3 years ago, during covid. My friend Mike and I were interviewing Grammy Award Winner Howard Hewitt and his long time music partner Monte Suwart near San Deigo.

This is just a screen shot. I adored the entire experience.

I have interviewed hundreds of people in my career ... It' s fun to have the memories.

Hey everyone... Questions are always asked of me. How do I get my movie made? How do you do voice over work? How did you start your media career? When was the first time you write for TV?

I am thinking of sharing a segment from one of the major motion pictures that my husband worked on. Maybe once a day for a month or two. A lot of people do not have reference for how the creative process works or what professional production means. Esp us as coaches.. some of us do a lot of social media planning.. and are very good at our craft but this kind of understanding is very different. If it offends you... I appolgize in advance but sometimes I think my humility is not helpful to others relating to me. It helps me with some people but others find it odd that I would be so accomplished and not using it to my advantage by at least talking about it.

Anyway.. I am going to be nice to hubby and talk about him- honor him for a bit. Covid brought us way closer. Life is always an interesting ride. Let's go!

Often when none experts teach sales, they will teach you to try to close on the first meeting, or shove something that is almost a fit .. down someone's throat. That is NOT sales.

Or if that is, it is a low level sale that is not the kind of sales I am talking about. I am talking about relationship selling. I am talking about consultative selling. I am talking about why you started a business in the first place- to listen and solve problems of others. In that way, business is a spiritual practice. And building the right business is doing the work of God in your brothers and sisters lives.

When you first start in sales, the goal is to help other to become aware of you, and what you sell, for you to become aware of them, and what their issue is, and in that meeting there are several other things going on. Other decisions being made. ( That is in one of my other classes). But the goal of the meeting is to "GET ANOTHER MEETING" not anything else. Unless it is only transactional, real sales happen over time... and with someone you want to help to solve a deep issue... often an issue that no one else could solve.

Professional Sales is relationship based. Not transactional. Don't be afraid of selling things.. we all have to sell something to survive. Whether you are selling a product or selling your boss, or selling a service or an investor.. it's all sales.
