As another season commences we at the Glentoran Gazette would like to pay tribute to one of our own , Thomas Sewell. Thomas has been the Glentoran Gazette photographer for 36 years now and without a doubt our success at the Programme of the Year awards , goes hand in hand with the excellent photos that Thomas has taken over those 36 years. Who could forget his wonderful photo of Michael Halliday after his cup final goal v Linfield or Colin Nixon's epic goal v Alliansi away. These are just two of thousands that Thomas has taken over the years from the old days of photos processed at Snappy Snaps to the digital format today. From all at the 1923 and the Glentoran Gazette, thank you Thomas for your dedication over those 36 years and here's to many more memories captured.

Not only are the Glentoran Supporters Committee (1923) producers of the Glentoran Gazette but we also look after the Halfers Draw on home matchdays.
Superbly looked after by Adrian McAlees , last season , thanks to the continued support of our fans , over £10,000 was raised , half of which went to the Glens , with the other half going on prizes. Tickets are still priced at £2 each or 3 for £5 , with the lucky winner drawn at half time. Thank you again for your support and we hope that your support for the Draw will continue again , starting on Friday night. Remember if you aren't in , you can't win!!

Friday night commences a new season and with it will come the launch of this seasons award winning Glentoran Gazette at our game with Crusaders. This year our Gazette designer , Beth Stafford has come up with a novel idea for the front cover , basing them on posters of famous movies , but with a Glentoran twist!! As usual your Gazette will be jammed packed with articles , stats and photos. Despite spiralling costs we have kept the price at £4 for our 40 page production.
All involved with the production and sales would like to thank everyone for their continued support last season. We would hope that this continues again this year. Our merry band of programme sellers will be in their usual place and look forward to seeing the return of familiar faces coming back through the turnstiles. However , don't forget to buy your Gazette on the way past.
Finally , we would like to extend our best wishes to Declan Devine , his staff and of course the players for the season. Hopefully it will be one to remember and celebrate. Come on the Glens!!

Everyone at the Glentoran Gazette are delighted to announce that we have been voted as the N.I.F.P.C.C. Programme of the Year for Season 2023-24, making it 23 seasons in a row!!
All at the Glentoran Supporters Committee (1923) congratulate our Editor John Grayden ably assisted by Norman Ternaghan , and his excellent team of contributors for all their wonderful efforts over the last season.
We would also like to thank everyone who has purchased a Gazette throughout the season and indeed over the years. It really makes all the efforts in putting the Gazette together and indeed in selling it , all worthwhile.
It was very fitting and touching today that our award was presented to Club Chairman, Jimmy Carter by Karen Cowan , wife of Gary Cowan , who was a member of the N.I.F.P.C.C since its foundation and had collected the Gazette since his youth. Sadly , Gary passed away last year , but as a special tribute to him , the N.I.F.P.C.C members thought it would be a nice touch for Karen and her family to present the award on their behalf this year. This was very much appreciated by all at the Glentoran Gazette. Plans are already in place for next seasons Gazette , when hopefully we can make it 24 in a row.

It has been a busy period for everyone connected with the 1923 and Glentoran Gazette. Firstly we welcomed members of the 1973/74 European Cup Winners Cup Quarter Final to the Oval and are clubrooms for refreshments. Today we had the great pleasure of welcoming four more Glentoran Legends to our clubroom for a half time cuppa. Joining us today were Jimmy Cleary , Pat McCoy , Barney Bowers and Don Leslie. As always , it was terrific to welcome the guys and lovely to see them in our clubroom.

Delighted to announce that the Glentoran Gazette will continue as the main shirt sponsor of the Glentoran Legends XI. A new kit will be worn this year and it certainly looks a classic. Well done to Paul Leeman and all at Zace for producing this wonderful design. We at the Gazette are proud to take our sponsorship into what will be 16 years this year. The Glentoran Legends have been magnificent ambassadors for Glentoran Football Club , helping to raise over £150,000 for various charities and good causes both here and in Scotland and are fully deserving of our support.
