Heading Off The Beach to Catch Bull Redfish From The Kayak (Charleston, SC)
I had a golden opportunity to take the kayak out to the jetties in the heart of "Red October", Charleston's peak opportunity to catch giant, Bull Redfish. During late Summer/early Fall, these overgrown goldfish take to the beaches, creeks, and other nearshore structure to engorge themselves with food to get ready to spawn. These fish are the biggest and most aggressive they will be all year and can be found concentrated in certain areas. Corey from Current Angling and his buddy Greg heading off the beach to try our hands at catching some of these huge fish from the kayak and we were NOT disappointed. We all caught bull red drum on this trip to the Charleston Jetties and had a great time! Our First Time Kayak Fishing The Charleston Jetties
Corey from Current Angling and I went out to fishing the Charleston Jetties for the first time from our kayaks. We had absolutely perfect conditions for it and managed to string together a quality day of fishing with a variety of species caught! We even managed to keep a few for the dinner table, but we let many more go. This trip was a lot of fun and we're already planning our next trip out there when the conditions (and our schedules) line up!

Fishing at Low Tide can be Insane!
In this video I fished a tiny, narrow creek for 3 days around low tide hoping to catch a big fish in shallow water. I first fished this creek last summer and it was nothing short of insane! It was absolutely loaded with big, beautiful red drum, so I was excited to go back and see if the fish were still there. Fortunately, these fish were apparently waiting for me to come back! The bite was fantastic and it was insane how many fish I was able to catch in such a small creek.

Which Bait Is Going To Catch The Most Catfish?
I took my new kayak up to the Santee Cooper to try and get on some big catfish on light tackle. I used both fresh shrimp and herring and I set out to see which bait would catch the most and the biggest catfish! There was a clear favorite so tune in to find out which bait these giant slimy fish preferred!

A Taste of Everything Inshore Fishing Has to Offer (Kayak Fishing)
On today's trip I went out at first light with the plan of throwing lures and attempting to sight fish redfish to start off, then later transitioning to fishing the docks for sheepshead. The overall goal was to catch some fish for the dinner table and to continue testing the new kayak. I ended up catching a taste of everything inshore fishing in the Lowcountry has to offer and my new kayak continue to impress me.

I Traveled to the West Coast Just to Catch This One Fish!
I was lucky enough to get back out to Southern California to fish with the one and only Glenn from San Dog Kayak Adventures and Charter Fishing! We set out for the kelp beds on this trip in search of California Sheephead, one of the most sought after coastal fish in the Pacific (it's said to taste like lobster!). Not to be confused with our East Coast "sheepshead", the California Sheephead is aggressive, can grow over 30lbs, are hemaphroditic (they change from female to male throughout their life), and are bright red and black! These are really cool and interesting fish and I had an absolute blast targeting them.
We caught our limits multiple times over using some funky, alien looking shrimp known as Ghost Shrimp for bait! A Great Day of Winter Fishing Down South (Catch & Cook)
Winter fishing can be hard and this winter has been especially challenging. Huge temperature swings and high winds have made getting on the water all but impossible, particularly when you can only fish on the weekends like myself. Fortunately, this fishing trip was different. The clouds opened up, the wind laid down, and the sun came out warming up the shallow water and causing the fish to become more active. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time!
Then we finished out today's video back in the kitchen cooking up some delicious homemade pasta with a sheepshead piccata! Let me know if you all want to see more catch & cooks in future videos!

The Bite Was on From the First Drop | Offshore Winter Sheepshead Fishing
I went out fishing with Marc from @redfishbluetail and his buddy Ryan. We took a trip offshore to a nearshore reef to do a little winter sheepshead fishing and the bite was on fire from the very first drop! We had an awesome day of sheep herding and we also had a surprise visit from some South Carolina Department of Resource Officers. We filled the box, through a bunch of fish back, and left them biting. What more can you ask for in the middle of January in Charleston?

We Definitely Made the Most of a Short Fishing Trip on a Cold Day
In this video I finally got the chance to get out fishing with another local kayak fisherman by the name of Corey, but you might know him better as @CurrentAngling ! We met up on a cold afternoon to fish an area I hadn't fished for well over a year. We didn't have the highest hopes since it was cold and we only had a few hours before it got dark, but we luckily got on an excellent bite! We fished until dark and had a great time doing it.
