What if you were made for such a time as this? In the book of Esther, we read about an orphan girl who was made queen during the reign of King Xerxes. The king picked her over all the other eligible females in the kingdom in what would today be called “The Bachelor”.During her reign as Queen, Esther learns that a treaty of persecution was signed against her people. She later found that the king was tricked into signing it.Esther was challenged by her uncle to stand up for her people and family for “perhaps you were made queen for such a time as this?” 4:14Esther prayed and fasted for God to give her strength. When the time was right she went before the king and begged for her people to be saved. The king overturned the treaty and the Jewish people were saved! One might look at Esther as brave and heroic, but she was just an ordinary girl like you and me. She was orphaned at a young age and didn’t marry until she was older. But God used this all for His glory. He used all of the things she walked through to save her people from being wiped out. Don’t think for a moment that God doesn’t have a plan for you. You might not see it or understand it right away, but God has a purpose for you to save His people! Esther 4:14
