There was an option for Christiano Ronaldo tu put his name as "Ronald" but he did not.
The name of the president was Ronald Reagan not Ronaldo Nazário
Probability of Cristiano Ronaldo name was "Ronald Dos Santos Aveiro"
The denial and made up story was straight disrespect on the first hand anyway.
Christiano gained immediate attention because of the name "Ronaldo".
And this is the reason 90's born mostly hate him. Not because of Messi. It's because Christiano completely denied that his name was taken from "Ronaldo Nazario"
There was nothing wrong if he accepted the fact but he chose to deny and stand with his pride.
Thus, the hate increased.
And some say that this is the reason his is still not able to lift the world cup despite his efforts
And they also mentioned that kids nowadays address real Ronaldo mostly as Nazario or R9
My point of view is
We should learn to respect those legends without comparing stats of our kitty league achievements with those legends whose matches were considered more like battles.
Matches where today's players wouldn't even survive 90 mins. Even if they do, that probably might be their last match for that year with a broken leg or two.
There is a big difference in shooting in Olympics and in the real battlefield.
Thus, we should respect each and every legend. There is no comparison.
