Have you ever REALLY considered how the things you consume (through social media, advertisements, podcasts, Youtube, etc.) affect your mindset? Becoming aware of what we feed our minds is key. Most of us, on average, spend quite a bit of time "aimlessly" scrolling on social media. Aimlessly is in quotes because subconsciously, we are absorbing so many thoughts and feelings when we do this. If you're like us, as you scroll, you think - "oh my goodness, they are so cute & put together all the time!" Or, "wow! They make the healthiest looking meals.. I can hardly get dinner on the table for my family." Or, "man! I really wish my home could always be that clean!" Oftentimes, we spend our time scrolling, comparing ourselves to other people's lives. When in all actuality, we're just seeing the highlight reel of their lives.
I challenge you to be conscious of the thoughts going through your mind as you scroll. Are they positive? Or, are you comparing yourself & judging yourself based on what others are sharing with the world? I encourage you to dig into this and realize the negative effects this can have on your mindset & your attitude.
If you feed minds with positive thoughts, encouraging words, and surround yourself with uplifting people - you'll be surprised with how much this changes your life.
