“Soultru's music is a unique blend of soul, R&B, and hip-hop that reflects the varied influences of singer & songwriter Terrance Banks. His upcoming EP, The Legend of Guitar Boy, is filled with stories that are often personal and introspective, exploring themes of love, heartbreak, and coping with loss. His powerful voice and emotional delivery make his music both moving and relatable.

From an early age, Banks has shown a love for music that was encouraged by his family and inspired his career as Soultru. His family was heavily involved in their local church band and fostered a passion for all types of music. As a teenager, he performed in church and school choir and took an interest in the written word form of poetry. It didn't take long for the young man to combine his love for singing with his poetic skills, and he began to compose original songs.

In 2020 he released an acoustic EP titled "The Truth" that was featured on Bandcamp Daily. Having shared stages with artists such as Ceschi, Kweku Collins, Neil Hilborn, Magic City Hippies, Amythyst Kiah, and more, Soultru is among a group of young, emerging, and talented artists that are the backbone of the Quad Cities indie music scene; this scene has developed into one of the hidden gems of the Midwest known for its diversity.

Recently he has played on festivals such as Alternating Currents in the Quad Cities, IA/IL, being added to Barrel and Flow Fest in Pittsburgh PA (2021), Lincoln Calling in Lincoln NE (2021 and 2022), Gross Domestic Product Festival Des Moines, IA (2022) and Summerfest Milwaukee, WI (2022).”
