IRON CO**SE (ICA-026) – SURPLUS EDITION: dubbed copies on TDK C60 tapes with original printed j-card overstock. Due to people asking sometimes for older releases, we’ve decided to offer some of them on a “dub on demand” basis. Available as long as the original j-cards are available (only handful).

In 1989, four youngsters around Helsinki area entered Tonal studio to record for a demo on 16 tracks. They captured 9 songs, including covers from DEAD KENNEDYS and EXTREME NOISE TERROR, plus some full on noisecore blasts that were not included on the demo. The sound recorded on luxurious 16-track is crisp but brutal and raw, with vocals often clipping in the red. They were greatly inspired by NA**LM DEATH and E.N.T., which is clearly heard on the demo.

Audio is ripped from original tape and remastered, with the original artwork preserved. This reissue includes the recorded noisecore tracks from the same sessions. A true piece of finnish grindcore history.

Coinciding with the release of BARON’s debut full length “Beneath The Blazing Abyss” on TRANCENDING OBSCURITY, what better time to offer this tape?!

Originally released in 2021 “Hellspawn” is BARON’s sort of comeback demo after a period of hiatus, coming back by reinventing themselves via a line-up change and heading into an even bleaker, darker direction. This demo consists of three new lengthy tracks of old school deathmetal, saturated with the scandinavian trademark HM2 soundsphere and a disment and loathing for the human soul.

VALUE ADDED TAX UPDATE

The Finnish government has decided to increase the Finnish value added tax from 24% to 25.5%, effective on September 1st 2024.

With such short notice, there may be some problems updating the webstore, accounting, etc systems to comply with the new law. This will undoubtedly also effect prices through the supplychain as well.

Iron Co**se webstore will be closed from August 31st for at least until the morning of September 1st. Should there be problems, the service break may be longer.

Some product prices may be increased a bit to make up with the tax increase.

If you want to make use of the old prices, and make sure to receive your items shortly, dial in you order before August 31st.

Rippikoulu’s Musta seremonia is both an international cult item and an integral part of the history of Svart Records as well – a reissue of the original 1993 tape was one of the earliest Svart releases back in 2010. Back then, this album was considered as one of the best kept secrets in the Finnish underground metal scene. Several quickly sold out reissues later, Rippikoulu’s greatness is no longer a secret, and we are happy to bring Musta seremonia back on the market.

Rippikoulu began their musical endeavours back in the late eighties, and like so many of their contemporaries, evolved from primitive punk noise to death metal. However, while many bands played death metal with groovy riffing and overall headbanging attitude, Rippikoulu’s choice of style was darker. Their downtuned metal is bleak and nearly unbearably heavy in its ex*****on, dark and soul-searching in its themes, intertwining faster bursts of chaos with slow, doomy passages.

Rippikoulu released the Musta seremonia demo album on tape in 1993 and then disappeared. They never gained much popularity in their time, but their legacy has steadily grown in time. The album has been carefully remastered from the original DAT master tape, cleaned up and amplified.
