The third annual FilmLight Colour Awards were, once again, a great success. Thank you to everyone who took the time to upload a project, everyone who came along and supported the event at CAMERIMAGE International Film Festival, and of course the excellent and committed jury for their support and hard work. Congratulations again to all this year’s nominees and winners.

Natasha Braier is an Argentinian cinematographer known for her visually striking and innovative work.

Lawrence Sher ASC is an American cinematographer and film director best known for his work on Joker, The Hangover and Garden State. He’s recently completed filming Joker: Folie à Deux, and is president of the 2023 FilmLight Colour Awards jury.

“I was really excited to be asked to be part of the jury for the awards,” says Sher. “I know it will be an immense challenge to help filter all the other jurors’ opinions into consensus winners. Colour is complex and subjective, so my goal is to allow an open forum in which we can express our thoughts on the work of the artists.”

Jury selects 22 nominees across five categories; winners to be announced at Camerimage Festival in November

“I’m so thrilled by the submissions for this year’s FilmLight Colour Awards,” says 2023 jury president Lawrence Sher, ASC. “The diversity of talent and work is, as expected, very high. Everyone that has made it through these early rounds has, in our eyes, already won. I am looking forward to Camerimage where we will celebrate and announce the winners.”
