Life Lessons I Learned By My 30th Birthday

A time of figuring out who you are, who you want to be, and who you want to share all of your days with. It’s natural to reflect on your life as you get older, especially at milestone ages. If I look over my twenties I can certainly say it has been a wild ride, full of highs and lows.

1. Real friends show up and make an effort

2. The most important meal is the one that’s shared with special people.

3. You’ll find yourself wanting to relive those 90’s memories

4.Eliminate the drama

5. Never forget that you are the author of your life

6.The value of time

7. People changed or people leave

8. As you get older, your circle of friends will get smaller. Don’t take for granted the ones that stick around.

9. The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your relationships - choose your friends wisely.

10. Stop caring about what other people think or say about you. We can’t please everyone and that is okay. Don’t ever lose yourself in the process just to get the approval of people who don’t deserve you in their lives.

11. Travel as much as you can and as far as you can. Take pictures and videos.

12. At this age you feel left out. Many of your friends are married with children by now or engaged. Don't rush things ,If it's meant to be, it will be.

13. Know when to let go. If it becomes toxic in your life whether it’d be a job, a vice or a person, you have to stop and let go.

14. Spend money on experiences than on things. Always remember that right now will be the oldest you’ve ever been and the youngest you’ll ever be again. Take chances. Fill your life with amazing stories and memories that leave no room for regrets and what ifs.

15. Be grateful wherever you are in life. The endless blessings and opportunities you’ve received in your work and in life is always something to be thankful for. Appreciate the people who helped you grow. These are the ties worth keeping. Accept the bad with the good and know that nothing is permanent.
