Goalie Henrik Lundqvist Retires from Hockey at Age 39
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After 15 years in the NHL, Henrik has decided to hang up the skates after trying to make an NHL comeback with his new team the capitals, he found out about a heart issue, right before the season and had to undergo surgery to fix and, leave time to recover, he was expected to be able to play again this upcoming 2021-2022 season.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Top Fantasy Picks
Well boys, Summer is almost over and hockey is almost here, If your going for the gold this year in fantasy, I would always say go with McDavid, But Sometimes that just isn't Available unless you have the 1st pick, I'm going to Give you 3 Overrated and 3 Underrated players to Stay away from and to pick up in this upcoming draft.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overrated Players:

1. Goalies are always tough to choose from cause depending on the defense they have they could be all-star level or Just straight garbage. I would say stay away from Phillip Grubauer, He was just sent to the kraken in the expansion draft, they're is a risk/reward with him being on a brand new team with what some would say a bad defensive core.

2. Jeff Petry Has all but hit his high point in his career with 12 G, 30 A, 42 Points, With the Canadians trying to make another run for the Cup with the old Divisions this season, i doubt he will have the same type of Game he had this past season.

3. Tim stuzle Was Exciting to watch this season, some highlight reel goals and winners, but this is The senators, when have they ever Developed a superstar, I don't think stuzle will ever be more than a 2nd line Winger, maybe even 1st line in a few years With development.

Underrated Players:

1. Anthony Mantha, Not only is Mantha on a new team (capitals), but He is with a new core of veterans that can get him points and goals, with the likes of Oshie, Wilson, Backstrom, Kuznetsov Etc.

2. Marc Andre Fleury, He is the flower, every team he has ever been on has Been on a cup run one or two times, with those teams being the penguins and the golden knights, Going to 4 Stanley cups and winning 2 of those. He is now on the Blackhawks and has a very talented Offense and a tough to subpar defense that can impress.

3. Alex Ovechkin, Not only is the Great 8 trying to pass Gretzky, but he is determined to go on another cup run for the capitals, with him and his teammate Backstrom, being locked up on 5 year deals till the 2025-2026 season.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Headline: Kraken ice plex Complete and ready to use.

The Seattle Kraken being a new team, needs a ice plex and a stadium, both are now done and ready to use, The Kraken will play the golden knights, the other most recent expansion team on Oct 12th in Vegas, while they're first home game won be until Oct 23rd when the Canucks come to town. The kraken are expected to finish in a good enough place in the division to hold a playoff spot and compete this upcoming 2022 playoff season.

Bruins @ Rangers 7:00pm MSG+ and NHLTV
The bruins who are contending to win the east division this year, are off to a hot start winning 4 straight and going 8-1-1 over their last 10 games who include the capitals, rangers, flyers, penguins and islanders who are all good teams who also want a division crown. meanwhile the rangers who are struggling on offense with rookie Alexis Lafrenière not playing well in his first 10+ games has only had 1 goal and about 19 shots on goal this season, not only that but the rangers top line has also had trouble scoring with either over passing for not shooting the puck enough, same goes for the top PP lines too.

While I watch this game I'm looking for the rangers to get more SOG and to establish that forecheck early. with that i think the rangers could get a step against a really good and well disciplined bruins team. although for the bruins taking costly penalties has been the problem and giving up goals early.

I'm taking the bruins in a close bout winning 5-4, also Patrice Bergeron I need points for my fantasy team tonight so play good for me : )

11/02/2021

Important notes: Blackhawks forward Pius Suter leads rookies in goals with 5 and a hat trick on the season, Semyon Varlomov leads the NHL with 3 shutouts this season with 2 being against the New York Rangers.

Sorry for the wait but its that time of the month! Note: this power rankings is NON BAISED!

Annual monthly Power Rankings! : presented by : Jacob Sloan a proud hockey fan and capitals super fan. i will do these at the beginning of each month, i may tend to do them a little late or early but still will always do them!
these rankings are based on win %,, goals scored, and my opinion on how they are playing at the time.

#31 Senators - at the beginning of Free agency they stunned a lot of people with a fast paced rebuild in which they acquired Matt murray, Evgenii Dadonov, and derek stepan. but to everyone's suprise in a mostly good and strong Canada Div. besides Vancouver and Edmonton, they have not faired to well going 1-6-1 in 8 games so far droping they're last 7 games! wow

#30 Redwings - now im not going to s**t on the wings to much since they're last 4 games have been against a good stars team, who was just in the Stanley cup final this past season, with high scoring depth also and then the good defensive core in Florida with the panther beating them by 1 goal the past 2 games with one being in OT.

#29 Blackhawks - missing Kirby Dach has been a real stinger for chicago lately, real good talent dach is and has an incredible wristshot, they're are this low however since they have lost 3 straight 2 of those being in OT fashion.

#28 Islanders - now newyork has had a tough last few games dropping a critical game against a depleted Washington team missing ovi, kuznetsov, orlov and samsonov. as a team who has good depth in defense and being coached by barry trotz is unacceptable. not to mention has lost 4 straight and currently losing to philly right now. basically if they can find more offense they can get some wins but the defense has to show up late.

#27 Flames - now i haven't been able to watch a flames game yet this season, but by looking at the score sheets and seeing they're past few. getting a good win in Montreal is a good start to get a streak going besides that in this Canada teams division which is tough with Toronto leading the NHL currently in points it will be tough going up the standings.

#26 rangers - ok this is where i become a little soft on this team, seeing that the teams that the rangers are ahead of is actually a right thing to do, since the rangers have started the season staring with being shut out by new york but next game shutting them out. the rangers last 6 games have been decided by a goal with 3 games going to OT, scoring is not the problem for this team, and defense is not the problem, it is just simply just winning the game in those OT games they are getting good chances, a good look was just a few days ago with #1 overall pick Alexis lafenierre getting his first NHL goal as an OT winner in buffalo. basically finishing more scoring plays will win them the games they need, and it wont be easy seeing as boston, washington and philly are running the east division so far. the rangers are in catchup mode right now.

#25 Coyotes - not much to say besides goal tending could be better and that the defense is good one night an average the other night, being shut out twice in january is not a good start but not last in they're division is not bad either being ahead of the sharks.

#24 Sharks - it was tough putting a team ahead of a better arizona team but in lack of self interest. i see this sharks team getting much better in February, i dont know but its a hunch they have a great defenseman and the forwards that can all score at least 15+ a season.

#23 Ducks - the ducks this season are a different team mixing up they're defensive pairing and having good goaltending from gibson until last night where he has injured, the surrendering 6 goals straight to a aged backup in ryan miller. they have all the pieces for a good run this year but they have to get past vegas and st louis before they do anything in Strong west division.

#22 Oilers - again watching oilers games has not been my main focus this season but from what i can tell things are not going great so far in this young and shortened season but things can only get better with a record of 4-6-0 a few good wins and they are back in the top 15, all they have to do is get more goals out of the third and fourth lines and stop relying on McDavid and draisital to do all the work. besides that the PP for edmonton is very good and goal tending now is about the same i would have to say.

#21 Kings - again the kings are in a tough west divison and are only 3 points away from being in playoff contention, also Kopitar is having a good start to the season being top 5 in Points so far this season.

#20 Sabres - going to keep it nice and short here, if buffalo wants to win they need to finish in OT, 4 of they're 10 games went into OT and if they can finish those plays they have 4 more wins and more points as a result.

#19 Devils - Great start to this season with Eric Comrie playing good as the back up getting the devils so crucial wins so far. offence could score more with the devils needing more out of first rounder jack hughes needs to get going sooner than later.

#18 predators - keeping it tight against good teams will get you wins and points. Nashville does that good a lot but sometimes they're defense just has a dumpster fire like none other, they're record is ok at 4-4-0, but they need more out of they're better players like josi, duchene and Johansson.

#17 lightning - Offense is the same old offense, tampa is still good and still winning, just in a stacked division with 3 teams at 11 points already, they can do better but we will have to see in February and of course not having Kucherov is going to hurt the PP a lot.

#16 Stars - The stars are having in my opionon a great start to the season going 4-1-1 in they're first 6 games of course missing a few games due to covid-19, but pavelski and radulov are having a great time in dallas with pavelski leading in goals and radulov leading in points.

#15 penguins - having a good start beating the capitals in OT twice to begin the season is not bad but have faired ok in the past 6 games either winning via scoring or losing in the extra period (OT). malkin has not really had the start he might have wanted having 4 assists and no goals to start the season. pens could be higher but 2 recent losses to boson proves that they are not ready to be higher as the defense breaks down late.

#14 Wild - (no info)

#13 hurricanes - carolina is having a excelent start with they're defense being top 5 in goals defended and have not allowed teams much chance for anything and keep the score close.

#12 Jets - this month they did trade patrik laine for dubois which i think is pretty even seeing as laine isnt the same goal scorer, jets are riding a low spot in the division but still have a decent record and it can get better but they need wins and fast.

#11 Canucks - great choice for a cup finalist, Holtby is playing good and the canucks offense is doing good in the canadian division, i have nothing really bad to say besides they could win more games other than that they are good. riding a win streak of 4 and only growing larger.

#10 Habs - good overall team effort wins, the habs recently shut out the flames after losing in a close 4-2 loss, they attacked the canucks with 2 big wins last week, price is playing good with a health defense and a strong offence.

#9 Blue jackets - Of course traded for Patrik Laine to bolster the offensive struggles, the jackets are mostly a defensive team and sometimes have trouble winning games solely because they cant score and Laine is that one guy that they need.

#8 Golden knights - the knights are a great team they have only lost once an that was only 3 days ago if they won that ne game they could be a top 5 team but they have only played 7 games and unlike other teams that have played more games that some due to rescheduling from covid.

#7 Bruins - bruins struggled against a great capitals team, but none the less came back late to get the point in an OT loss, offense did struggle for the first period pulling off 15+ shots in the first and almost 20 in the second and still being down 3-1. overall good team, just not good enough for top 5 this time around.

#6 Panthers - panthers have played only 7 games but have not lost in Reg, only once in SO. good play by the goalies and defense keeping the games close and tight. looking forward to see them play teams like dallas and tampa to see if they are the real deal.

#5 Avalanche - all Colorado does s outscore people the amount of scorers they have on the offensive side of the ice is insane but they can lose and did tonight against the wild in a close one. overall good team they deserve a cup final appearance here soon they have the talent they just have to get there.

#4 Blues - they lead they're division, playing well in the ealry periods getting leads and keeping them, perron and schenn are playing very well this season after stepping up after petrangelos departure to vegas this fall.

#3 Maple leafs - leaf's playing good but they have never proved it in the payoffs maybe this is they're year finally maybe not also

#2 Flyers - very close 2nd could eaisliy be #1 but they have not scored as many goals as the ________ and have not had as good defensive play. overall great team and has a bright future with they're young players.

#1 Capitals - by far the best team this month winning with a new coach is not easy and having your starting goalie leave is hard also but Vitek vanetek was ready for the call and showed up winning 4 games and on a point streak of 6, capitals lost 4 starters and still have not lost in Reg. I am a caps fan but this power rankings is non biased, the capitals are #1 and have earned it with a record of 6-0-3 with half of they're starting line out on Covid protocol, also coming back 3 down against the islanders this past week to win 6-3 and getting a great win against Boston with pastrnak back. Now with Ovechkin, kuznetsov and orlov back the PP will be even better now too.
