Today, we are very proud to release 2 albums by Char-X: Radio and Nightvision I. Radio contains that authentic, charming rock sound that is emblematic of Denton's beloved songwriter. Nightvision I contains the first ever dubelectro album by Char-X. Imagine you're playing Splinter Cell or Metal Gear Solid, and you might have an idea of the vibe of this album. These two albums are available digitally, but are also available as a single cassette. You can pick up a copy via our DMs, Bandcamp, or come out tonight at Aura Coffee in Denton, TX between 4pm and 6pm for the listening party/release celebration and grab one then.

Today, Memory Terminal is proud to present the new album by MirrorBoxx ( ), Maximum Program. Nine tracks of electronic music created on analog synthesizers and drum machine. MirrorBoxx is the solo project of Sean Kirkpatrick ( ), a longtime Dallasite known from other acts such as Nervous Curtains ( ) and The Paper Chase. In a similar fashion to previous MirrorBoxx recordings, this music has melodies and textures suitable for the long meditative car ride as well as the rhythm and pulse of the nightclub, but this new release takes the classic analog synth-driven sound of previous works and really expands the production in a way that showcases the full spectrum of sounds and ideas that shape and influence the MirrorBoxx sound. Available now on CD and digitally via Bandcamp. Link in bio.

"This is my third release as MirrorBoxx. I think it's the most developed musical statement I've made so far with this project. Sure, it's dark, but the shadowy paranoia is balanced by periodic rays of light (major chords?!). The sound is more expansive; it's warm and full. You may detect the influence of iconic synthesizer/electronic music such as Kraftwerk, Bowie, Drexciya, Numan, etc. along with elements of dub and psychedelia. I attempted to use these elements to create a sound that went beyond the confines of genre into something that sounds fresh to my ears." -Sean Kirkpatrick (aka MirrorBoxx)

Written, recorded, and mixed by Sean Kirkpatrick
All sounds created with:
Moog Matriarch
Moog Voyager
Roland TR8S

Mastering and additional mixing by Matthew Barnhart ( )
Layout and design by Emil Rapstine ( )

On 6/21, local record label, Memory Terminal, is releasing the new album by MirrorBoxx called Maximum Program. This show is to celebrate the release of this finely-tuned electronic machine of an album. Alongside Mirrorboxx, we’ve got some solid local support ranging from techno, electro, noise/power electronics, and lofi 3d-model-accented synth abstraction/performance art.

MirrorBoxx ( ), the instrumental project of Sean Kirkpatrick (also of Nervous Curtains), rejects both utopia and dystopia in favor of a hyperreality that reveals the psychological and social alienation of the current moment. Operating as part of the vast North Texas electronic music scene, MirrorBoxx stands out for its use of foreboding melody and dynamic analog composition.

12:00am - Formless Ocean
11:15pm - MirrorBoxx
10:30pm - Cygnus
09:45pm - Hound Rang
09:00pm - Venetian Video Cats From Venus

Formless Ocean ( ) - Solo electronics by Randall Minick. techno, noise, and rhythmic experiments, all hardware. Member of Python Potions, Laughing Matter, Demandite, Bandwagon & more.

Cygnus (.avi ) - Legendary Dallas-based electro man/machine. Toured all around the world with the likes of Autechre, among others.

Hound Rang ( ) - Solo project of Denton TX artist Ben Bechthold. Psychedelic electronics, noise, industrial, hysteria, & more?

Venetian Video Cats From Venus ( ) - We're a Multimedia Art Collective from TX! And Our leader is Staci_Stacis!
