How to get around the BBC block in Russia
The Russian authorities have restricted access to BBC websites in Russian and English, as well as other international and independent media, accusing them of circulating "false information" about what is happening in Ukraine.
In response, the BBC said "access to accurate, independent information is a fundamental human right which should not be denied to the people of Russia, millions of whom rely on BBC News every week".
Record numbers of people have read the BBC's Russian language news website since the invasion.
To get around the BBC ban in Russia:
Download the Psiphon app from the AppStore or Google Play Store
Look for the dedicated BBC site on the Tor Browser which can be found using this URL. Note that this URL only works using the Tor Browser or the Onion Browser (on iPhones)
If access to the apps is restricted then send a blank email to [email protected] or [email protected]. An email will be sent in response with a direct and safe download link
The BBC has also launched two new shortwave frequencies broadcasting World Service English news for four hours a day to Ukraine and parts of Russia:
15735 kHz from 14:00 GMT to 16:00 GMT
5875 kHz from 20:00 GMT to 22:00 GMT

The Keats-Shelley House is proud to present the 31st annual Poetry Prize for Schools.
This year's Shelley-inspired competition themes are:
"Cats" or "Egypt" for students between the ages of 5 and 9
"Fear" or "Inspiration" for students between the ages of 10 and 13
"Elegy" or "Tyranny" for students between the ages of 14 and 18
The poem, together with the entry form, must reach the Keats-Shelley House by 6 May 2022.
Each student may submit only one poem either in English or in Italian.
Entries can be submitted via regular mail or via email to [email protected].

I'm not going to lie, the last couple of years have been tough with the effects of Covid and now, the after-effects. It has taken me years (and many tears) to build up my little business and I had just had my best year ever when Covid hit. I love being creative and able to make a modest living from it but it breaks my heart to think if I can continue much longer as business has been pretty poor this year. As much as I love doing what I do, I need to make a living too. Normally this time of year I'm like one of Santa's elves, beavering away on lots of lovely handmade things that will be opened and loved on christmas day but not this year. If you fancy gifting someone a piece that is totally unique and made with oodles of love put into it, please consider a piece by me. I can make something for all budgets, big, small, something for the wall, something for a shelf, something witty and even a bit bonkers! For something totally unique my prices are flipping good too and as all my pieces are made from recycling you are also helping the planet in a small way from saving rubbish going to landfill! I know I'm not the only handmade business struggling so more than ever please consider us for your christmas gifting rather than a multi-national company that basically ships in tat. EVERY SINGLE ORDER MEANS EVERYTHING to a business like me, I can't stress that enough. I have some amazing supporters, customers and collectors so if I could ask nothing else, please *LIKE* and *SHARE* this post to anyone who doesn't know what I do and may be interested, it would mean a lot to me and maybe keep me going :(
