Let us learn something basic about websites by using my website as an example.

CMS (CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) – A platform to manage the contents of a website. Popular names include WordPress, Shopify, Joomla, Drupal and many others.

My website is made with the CMS WordPress, it the most popular. You can see in the picture how the dashboard of a WordPress Website looks like.

DOMAIN – It is basically the name of a website. For example, Google.com, Forbes.com. For my website it is wazedmahir.com

Few popular companies fro which you can buy domains are Namecheap, Shopify, Hostinger, bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.

*Tip – Try to choose a name that is easy to remember and pronounce.

TOP-LEVEL DOMAIN (TLD) – The end part of a domain is the TLD. The most common is the .com. There are many others like .org, .shop, .online, .xyz, .bd and the list keeps going.

HOSTING – In simple terms, it is the purchase of a portion of a server to save the details of a website. There are many hosting companies available. Namecheap, bluehost, Hostinger, Hostgator and many others.

I used Hostinger to purchase both my domain and hosting.

I would like to thank the owner of Raida Transportation Company for allowing me to sit on their bus for hours and finish this book within a couple of days. 😛

Enjoyed the book. Got to learn a lot of interesting things. It really changed how I used to think about certain aspects. I would suggest this book to every business student so that they can grab on some advice and ideas that they may not get or come up with.

This book is about the questions you must ask and answer to succeed in the business of doing new things: what follows is not a manual or a record of knowledge but an exercise in thinking. Because this is what a startup has to do: question received ideas and rethink business from scratch.

Peter Thiel co-founded Paypal and Palantir, made the first outside investment in Facebook, funded companies like Space X and LinkedIn, investment in Facebook, which encourages young people to put learning before university.
