Landowners are having to rip out orchards due to a lack of market for their apples.
People are critisising these landowners because they prefer seeing orchards than fields of potatoes.
As a landowner you’d have the following choice:
A)leave as it is but make a loss on that land just to keep the environmentalists happy
B)Let to a local farmer for arable crops - make a bit of money
C)let to a local farmer for potatoes(potato ground is more desirable) - make a decent income
D)sell the land for housing - live comfortably.
I know what I’d do, what would you? We need to support the farmers not be against them, without them there would be less countryside.
