Music, like any art form, is open to personal interpretation and very subjective, and therefore relative and often referential. And it is therefore important to me to share and acknowledge my inspirations, artists I look up to and yes, sometimes copy and imitate.

This time I chose to share a quote by Honey Dijon that I really connect to. If you've ever been to a Honey Dijon party, you'd know it's a unique experience from the very first track. It feels to me like Honey is consistently very intentional about taking people on a journey, as opposed to just delivering banger after banger (which, don't get me wrong, is an equally legitimate approach), not to mention her sound is so distinctly hers.

I last saw Honey play just a few months ago, at her headline show at KOKO Camden, which was a very intimate set that left me wanting more to say the least. I absolutely can't wait to see her again at The Beams London next month!
