The Apostle Paul emphasizes in Galatians 3:28 that in Christ, distinctions like Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female dissolve. If we acknowledge equality before God for Jew and Gentile, why not extend the same belief to men and women? In Acts, God’s Spirit was poured out on all flesh, as Peter proclaimed in fulfillment of Joel’s prophecy. Men and women were empowered to serve and prophesy. If God gifts a woman to speak, why should we prohibit it? Acts and Paul’s letters, like Romans 16, acknowledge women leaders in the early churches, challenging any restrictions based on gender.
