These right-wing folks are attacking our institutions of government and education in attempts to spead hate, division, and fulfill their fascist agenda. Some of these folks are misinformed, some folks should really know better, and some folks are downright evil. The Poat Dispatch story about last night's Library Board meeting. 350 people in attendance but only 20 people cared to stay for the multi-million dollar budget that they voted on...

"More than 350 people crowded into a St. Charles County library board meeting Tuesday night in the latest escalation in a fight over a library employee's wardrobe."

The issue at the time was the male employee's makeup and nail polish. To my knowledge it *wasn't* his wardrobe.

St. Charles County's Library Board of Trustees Meeting was off the chain this evening featuring LGBTQ folks and allies just asking people to leave them alone and self-righteous, ignorant anti-LGBTQ folks outraged over a single male library employee's attire.

Then for some reason Mark McCloskey of all people had a turn at the mic...

Club Q hero Rich Fierro was detained under suspicion for an hour by police after disarming the shooter who killed 5 people (including his daughters' boyfriend) and wounded 18 others- saving countless lives as a result.

"As other officers arrived, Fierro said, they treated him with suspicion. They interrupted him as he gave first aid to a friend, he said, and 'dragged me out of there like I was the shooter.' He said he was held in a police car for an hour before authorities released him to reunite with his wife and daughter. Police did not return calls seeking to confirm Fierro’s account."

Richard Fierro said he was aided by others as he halted the shooting that interrupted a celebratory night at Club Q in Colorado.

“The fact that these youth voters are coming in so strong in an off-year is very concerning,” Fox News commentator Jesse Watters lamented on Wednesday night. “It looks like they’ve been brainwashed. This new generation is totally brainwashed ‘cause a lot of these single women [who] vote 37 spreads for Democrats, are teaching all of our younger generation in these schools and they’re polluting their minds and then they grow up and they’re in their twenties and then they vote for leftists.”

Political Podcasts are the big thing these days. That being said, a whole lot of Missouri is lacking a Progressive voices and presence. I'm John Kiehne and I'm running for Mo. State Senate in SD26 while also working to strengthen and expand the Democratic Party's presence in East Central Missouri and beyond.

I'm running in a red District in a red region in a red state fighting for Democratic values. I've also spent my adult life writing, recording, and performing music as well as spending the last 15 years raising, supporting, and advocating for victims of domestic violence and neglect.

I intend for this podcast to expand on my interests as well as my experiences in politics, music, and as an advocate. I hope that you will find our content to be entertaining, insightful, and informative. Episode One of the Big Blue Unicorn Podcast will be released soon.
