I (Rylee) was lucky enough to get to do an author’s visit to my son’s kindergarten class this morning! While there is a lack of snow outside, we still managed to build our own snowmen indoors! A STEM activity building snowmen out of marshmallows was the perfect way to fill our snowless void! I was so impressed to see the teamwork and creativity of these students! 🙌🏻👏🏻

Last Tuesday, a day before the year anniversary of our book launch, we welcomed a new member of the Better Together Books family.

Rylee’s daughter and Landon’s niece, Delaney was born! And as you can see she is already a fan of snowmen! ☃️

Rylee and Landon are inspired to write and illustrate by the children in their lives. There is no doubt that this new addition will spur on this small book company! New ideas and books are brewing! Stay tuned! ❄️❄️❄️

Welp, we were preparing to announce another book release this upcoming year, but that has been put on hold for a bit. Our author, Rylee, and her husband will be welcoming the newest member of the Better Together Books family this October!

Have no fear, we have big ideas and will be back with more books at a later date! If anything, this new addition will only inspire more stories! 📚

One of my (Rylee’s) family’s favorite seasonal books is Gingerbread Mouse! And this year my oldest took inspiration from the story and asked to decorate Gingerbread houses (Even using the book illustrations as a guide). 🍪🐭⁣

Have you been enjoying ❄️𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝗪𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝'𝐬 𝐁𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐦𝐚𝐧!❄️? There are so many pieces and parts that make up this book to create the magic within. One of the most important components of the story are the illustrations. They truly bring this adventure to life! ⁣📖⛄ ⁣ We wanted to give you a glimpse into the very intricate process of Landon illustrating. This is no small feat! The skill, concentration, and detail that go into each illustration is unbelievable to see in action.⁣🖋 ⁣ When first discussing this project with Landon, Rylee gave him a description of what she imagined Lumi to look like. He instantly sketched out (what we know and love as) Lumi on his first attempt. He completely nailed the vision! ⁣ ⁣ From there, the other characters and the style of background were developed. Next, the coloring and shading were discussed. Wanting to keep with a more soft and whimsical feel, they opted for a watercolor style. Landon researched, learned, and mastered this technique to execute the illustrations!⁣ ⁣ Rylee went through each part of the story and wrote out what she envisioned for every page. Landon then drew sketches and the back and forth collaboration took off. This truly was a team effort!
