The TFTV team looks into more cases of missing Indigenous people in Humboldt County and hears recurring themes of domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health issues, and lawlessness. Is Humboldt County “The Wild West”? We find ourselves asking, what can we do to support the efforts to find Khadijah, Emmilee, Virgil, Andrea, Sumi, and other missing Indigenous people in this area? #MMIP #thevanishingpoint
Virgil Bussell Jr. ran his own wood-cutting business and he used his flatbed truck regularly for work. It was something that his sister, Verna, tells us her brother usually did on his own. Beyond the discovery of the truck and the piles of wood tossed in the bed, there were a few other suspicious discoveries. Virgil's keys and jacket were found inside the vehicle. The windows were left down, and his chainsaw was nowhere to be found. Listen to episode 4 now, apple.co/thevanishingpoint #upandvanished #truecrimepodcast #MMIP
Sumi Gail Juan was reported missing on October 29, 2010, although there are conflicting reports as to when she was last seen.
