CELEBRATING OUR NANDI HEROES;

Today, the members of the Nandi County Assembly being led by Joshua Kiptoo Speaker Nandi County and David Koech( Nandi County majority leader) celebrated the victory of our athletes; Peris Chepchirchir and Amos Korir for their exemplary Tokyo Olympics performance at AIC Irimis not forgetting our GOAT; Kipchoge . The county speaker declared that, a motion on "Nandi County Heroes" sponsored by Hon Mengeech must be implemented in order to help our athletes.
He also added that Financial incentive should be included to honor winners in any international competition.

MISUSE OF POWER BY AN AREA SUB-CHIEF

Report reaching our desk is of an elderly man known as Mzee letting (Kipkole) from Nandi county, Kaboi location, kamarich sub-location who is now living with a lot of pains after he was brutally beaten by the area sub-chief together with some members of Nyumba kumi. The incident happened at the chief's office located at kipkenyo centre.

Our big question today;

Is it lawful for an area sub-chief to inflict excess pain to an Old man?

Appeal hearing: Court to deliver ruling next month

The Court of Appeal will deliver its judgement on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) appeal case on August 20, 2021.

Appellate court President Daniel Musinga said the seven-judge-bench hearing the case had made careful deliberations as the four-day hearing comes to a close.

“We deliberated on this date, looking at the nature of the matter and volumes before us,” Justice Musinga said.

Since Tuesday, court has been hearing submissions by proponents and opponents in the case, who are seeking to have High Court’s judgement that nullified the BBI overturned or upheld.

There were nine issues at the heart of the hearing, among them public participation, IEBC quorum and role of BBI promoters and initiators. For four days, top legal minds, old and new, took turns to defend their arguments, treating Kenyans to a legal face-off.
