Our writers and wrote the song ‘Nuclear’ and it was released, featuring as the end title track for the K Drama TV called ‘A Superior Day (우월한하루)’. It was also included on the Original Soundtrack album, which can be found on Spotify.
“‘Nuclear’ is an electronic pop song with a cold sounding piano playing with layered harmonies, giving a deep, eerie feeling. One of the writers, Liam Gedes, sang haunting background vocals, which enchanted the dark mood of the song.”
A massive congratulations to the guys, and a big thanks to our partners at Sony who helped secure the cut.
We’ve been nice and busy here at PitchPlay Music and over the weekend, we ran the first in-person session of a very exciting project we’re involved in, called Pitching Up, in partnership with 😀
The project involves working with 16 -25 year olds in the Aberdeen area who make music, and teaching them about the music industry. They participants are working together to create and record tracks, learning how to assess and work to song brief and building their personal creative skills.
The first weekend was a huge success, and we cannot wait to see how all of those taking part develop on their musical journeys! 🎶🎧👏🏽

Japanese boyband released their single, Ups & Downs, today! This was written by the fantastic .andy and and not only have they written an amazing song, it’s also reached #2 on it’s first day of being released!
Well done team! A well deserved release and definitely one to celebrate!

The song has a feisty attitude but with a fresh and honest approach. In OhEm’s own words “It’s bratty, sassy and bold”.

We are very excited to be a part of this project! Working with and up to 20 young creatives are being given the opportunity to learn about the music business and get creative too!
There will be in person songwriting camps, and online sessions, all with people working in the music industry with us here at PitchPlay Music.

Korean group Supernova have released their new album Cloud Nine to mark their 12 year anniversary in Japan. It features the song End Of The Day, which was co-written by our very own PitchPlay director and songwriter Mike Macdermid along with SeikoonLee, Takeru Sasaki and Alyssa Ayaka Ichinose.
It made it’s debut today at #8 in the Oricon album charts! Huge congratulations to everyone involved! Well done! 🍾

楊芸晴 Sunnee, a former member of the Chinese girl group Rocket Girls 101, has released her single Oops! (I’m comin’ thru), which features Taiwanese-American artist Amber Liu. This was written by our very own Rachel Clark and Rajiv Music so a HUGE congratulations to them both!
Shout out and thanks to Kobalt Music who we collaborated with on this track. Oops! might be the song title, but it definitely wasn’t a mistake with this cut 😜

Hello to our new , and hello to everyone who has been following us from the start! We have a new member of the team to introduce, Amie Flett 🙌🏽
Amie is joining us as she completes her 4th year at university as a journalism student. She is the co-host and head of distribution for her own podcast called HUSH HUSH, which focuses on bringing light to taboo issues in society. With a musical background playing the guitar and piano, Amie likes singing on the odd occasion too!
If you feel that you recognise Amie, you might have seen her in a video that went viral and gained over 34k views! The video is Amie and her friend singing a remix of the ‘Cup Song’ from Pitch Perfect and ‘Troublemaker’. Have you seen it? Let us know in the comments!

The last director on the team is Rajiv Bukhory. He is a singer/songwriter with 10+ experience in his music career. Rajiv has written on three #1 singles in for Luhan, Cai XuKun and Nine Percent, yet still hasn’t received a physical copy of any of the songs! 💿
With his own music, he has performed across the UK, 3 tours in and , with one of his favourites being at the Luzhniki football stadium for 20,000 people.
He smiles a lot more in real life than what you see in this photo, but a fun 👀 fact is that he once had to pose naked for a magazine charity shoot and was given a random item of clothing to hide his modesty. Any guesses what it was? 😂
Up next on the list of directors is Scottish singer/songwriter Mike Macdermid. Having shared the stage with acts such as Wet Wet Wet and Ocean Colour Scene, Mike has also had his vocals appear in The Sims 3!
The list of artists that he has written for is quite long, but he has been behind tracks for ARASHI, Loona, 여자친구 G-Friend and many more, with several billboard and over 500 million streams.
Mike also holds the record for the shortest career as a match day announcer, lasting 6mins and 52 seconds before having to tell 15,000 fans to go home, as the floodlights failed. This even made the news on Sky Sports 🙌🏽

We couldn’t leave him out, so here is David Brant, a well established producer and songwriter with over 20 years in the business! He has written and produced for Mis-Teeq (), and just to name a few!
At school, David was the only one to take music as a GCSE, which has lead to multiple platinum status records, as well as successes in the J,K and C-pop charts! 😎 You can follow him here
