Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appointed Mr. Jerry Kolo as Senior Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations.

Mr. Kolo, an indigene of Patigi local government area, was until his appointment the chairman of the Kwara North Development Council (KWANDCO).

The Governor has also appointed Abdulgafar Ahmed Abiola, known in the public as 'Cute Abiola', as Special Assistant on Creative Industries. Cute Abiola is a household name in the fast-growing skit (comic) industry in Nigeria.

AbdulRazaq also similarly named Ogundele Joseph Olabisi as Special Assistant on Community Engagement.

The appointments take immediate effect.

Femi Otedola Shares Photos From Luxury Yacht As He Marks 60th Birthday

Billionaire, Femi Otedola, is set to celebrate his 60th birthday on Friday.

For the celebration, it has been revealed that the businessman rented a luxury yacht, the Christina O for three weeks for his family members.

He shared some photos from the yacht on his Instagram page and captioned them, “Welcome Aboard the Christina! Are you ready for …F.Ote💲”

DJ Cuppy, who is his daughter also shared a video from the yacht and said, “My father always dreamt as a little boy to visit the iconic 99m super-yacht CHRISTINA O because it was owned by his (and my) role model Aristotle Onassis ⛴🇬🇷

In Ogun State today, PDP expels Adebutu, four others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State chapter on Thursday announced the expulsion of its former governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, and four others.

According to the party, the expulsion was over their alleged involvement in the manipulation of the delegates’ list used in conducting the May 25, 2022 governorship primary election of the party and flagrant disobedience to court order.

Adebutu was expelled along with four others – Taiwo Akinlabi, Sunday Solarin, Kayode Adebayo and Akinloye Bankole, after the relevant Working Committee of the party, reviewed the report of a 5-man disciplinary panel set up to look into the allegations of anti-party, indiscipline, division and acts capable of bringing the party into disrepute.

The chairman of the disciplinary committee, Hon. Akintunde Mufutau said in a statement: “After a thorough review of the allegation levelled against them, the panel found Adebutu and others guilty. Subsequently, they have been recommended for expulsion and same has been communicated to the necessary organs of the party for ratification.”

Ifeanyi: Davido’s nanny, cook may face charges for negligence

The two suspects detained in connection with the death of three-year-old Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of music artiste, Davido, and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, may remain in police custody until they are cleared by an autopsy report.

A credible source, who disclosed this to PUNCH Metro on Wednesday, said the nanny and the cook were directly in charge of Ifeanyi’s welfare, adding that they might also be liable for negligence.

The source said, “The cook and the nanny were the ones directly with the child, so, they are guilty of negligence until the autopsy is conducted. During investigation, we have suspects, and depending on the case, the suspects may or may not be released.

“So far, the family has not objected to the autopsy, but how fast it will be done depends on the hospital. But the next move is to review the CCTV at the house.”

PUNCH Metro had reported that after Ifeanyi’s co**se was recovered from the swimming pool at his father’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State, it was deposited in a mortuary for autopsy.

The police subsequently invited eight domestic workers and after interrogation, six of them were released.

However, two others, the nanny and the cook, were detained.

Contacted for a follow-up reaction, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the detention of the suspects, declined to give further details to avoid preempting investigation into the case.

He said, “If we need to detain them for longer than necessary, we will obtain a court order so as to ensure that we are not doing over detention or illegal detention.

“I can’t give much details about an ongoing investigation, but those two people detained are assisting us in our investigation. Those that were released have little or no bearing to the case but the two people detained are assisting us.
