LEARNING NEW THINGS..
On our travels we have had so many opportunities to learn new things.. and to jump out of our comfort zones..
Yesterday Josh taught Lylah how to fish 🐟
Welcome to our page! We are Josh & Sianne - A couple who recently started our travel adventures with our two daughters.
We are now creating a lifestyle for our family with the freedom that we have always dreamt of and escaping the 9-5 daily grind.
LEARNING NEW THINGS..
On our travels we have had so many opportunities to learn new things.. and to jump out of our comfort zones..

LOVE THE LIFE WE HAVE BUILT TOGETHER ❤
The decision we made to head off on our 3month travel adventure has not only brought our little family even closer but has also strengthened our relationship more than we thought possible.. I think we make the best team.
HOW GOOD ARE SPONTANEOUS ADVENTURES..
We had an awesome afternoon at Horseshoe Bay, South West Rocks 🌅
Paddle boarding, turtle spotting, dolphin watching, playing in the rock pools and playground, finished with fish and chips watching the sunset with friends.
PORT MACQUARIE ☀️
What an amazing few days we have had hanging out with and down in Port Macquarie.
The skate park has been a big hit for all the kids and its so cool watching their confidence grow.
We have had the best time!!
GOODBYES 👋
Our big girl is such a sensitive soul (just like her mum) and one thing she has really struggled with during our travels is saying goodbye to new friends that she makes at each destination..
Initially she would cry hysterically and found it really difficult to understand that we may not see these new friends again but overtime she has grown so much and has learnt to understand her emotions and that it's okay to feel sad when saying goodbye..
It's been so special watching all the little friendships the girls have formed along the way.
A MORNING WELL SPENT☀️🏄♀️
Surfing with with fam 🤙 it's been far too long between waves. 4years to be exact since we have all been out in the water together. What a feeling!!
3MONTH TRIAL OF THE "CARAVAN LIFE"
We had an amazing 2 1/2 months of adventures in sunny QLD but to finish off our 3months of travels we have decided to head south to relax and slow down before we head back to reality..
We have had a small taste of the caravan life and we have well and truly caught the travel bug..
Already planning our next travel adventures!!
BROOMS HEAD 🌅
FAMILY ❤
Yesterday we dropped in to surprise our family after 2.5months on the road..
The reaction of my two eldest nieces just melted my heart.
SURFER GIRLS 🏄♀️
Yesterday we had so much fun watching the girls in the waves with their cousin.
Little surfer girls in the making..
KIDS AFFIRMATIONS ❤
Teaching our girls about self love, emotions and values. These beautiful cards by Revie Jane were such a special gift from my parents for our girls.
Our 4 year old always asks each morning if she can do her special cards. They've now become a daily little routine.
They are so perfectly written. We absolutely love them.
SUNRISE 🌅
Our favourite part of the day!!
Who else loves early mornings and watching the sunrise? or do you prefer watching a good sunset?
Getting up early and watching the sunrise reminds me of the many early mornings my dad and I would get up early before school to squeeze in a quick surf. Its one of my favourite memories growing up.
So glad our girls love getting up early and love watching the sunrise as much as we do.
FAMILY TIME💕
Two months ago we took off on an adventure of a lifetime.. or you could say a little trial of the "caravan life"
Prior to deciding to take off travelling we were both working long hours and our girls were spending more time in daycare than with us. We were always exhausted and quality family time was at times non existent.
The parent guilt was real and we knew we needed to make some changes. We made the decision to travel in order to reconnect as a family and spend quality time together.
It was the best decision we have ever made.. we have certainly caught the travel bug and we are so keen for more adventures!!
We are working towards being able to travel full time and we are so grateful for new opportunities..
CARNARVON GORGE 📍
Wow I can't believe we were initially going to skip this amazing place..
We thought maybe this might be somewhere to come back to when the girls are older and we can actually conquer the full walk.. But we are so glad we added it to our trip.
We decided we would attempt to achieve our longest walk with the girls, and we were going to attempt 9km.
We ended up completing 20.6km!!! 😳 we are so bloody proud of ourselves. Lylah (4y.o) walked 17km on her own and Ava (2y.o) well she was basically carried a good 90% of the way. (Poor Dads shoulders and Mums back).
It was such an adventure but gosh that last 2km almost broke us.. Lylah wanted to do it again the next day. 🙊
OUR GIRLS ❤
So grateful for being able to spend every day of the last 2months watching these two learn, grow and experience new adventures.
We most certainly have our days and challenges as everyone does..
But my gosh we have create memories I will cherish forever ❤
GOING ON A BEAR HUNT
Almost every walk we tackle I end up carrying our 2 year old for the most of it.. (hence the huffing and puffing 🤣) she does pretty well though considering her little legs..
We usually sing along to "going on a bear hunt" to distract the girls from the distance we are walking.
Just because we have kids doesn't stop us from enjoying different walks wherever we go, we just make sure we are prepared.
"MY HEART IS FULL OF HAPPINESS" ❤
This morning we did some fossicking which Josh has been so excited to do with our girls.. as it's one of his favourite childhood memories.
When taking back the fossicking equipment our 4year old said "thank you so much Dad, my heart is full of happiness"
It's moments like these that make us so happy we made the decision to take time off to travel and spend quality time with our girls...
It drives us to want to work harder to be able to continue living this lifestyle.
QUEENSLAND - CENTRAL HIGHLANDS
When this beauty decides to come and greet you at your camp-site.. Our big girl was in her absolute element. 😍
TRYING NEW THINGS
Josh suggested the four of us should try kayaking during our time in Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Island.
Initially I was not keen on the idea - I kept thinking of all the negative things that could happen - like we could tip out and be stung by stingers, the girls might hate it and whinge.
Thankfully Josh talked me into it and thank goodness he did because it was so much fun!! We had an absolute ball.
How often do we talk ourselves out of doing things because of what might or might not happen..
Life is too short to not give things a go!
KANGAROOS AT SUNRISE🦘
There is no better way to start the day than getting up early to watch the sunrise.. it has to be one of our favourite things to do as a family. To make it even more special this morning we watched kangaroos eat their brekky along the beach.
PARENTHOOD
The hardest yet most rewarding job in the world. The challenges we have experienced travelling the last two months in a caravan and being together 24/7 have certainly tested us at times. Its taken quite a bit of adjusting.
However, seeing the excitement on their little faces at every new adventure we experience and sharing those memorable moments together as as family is so special and pretty quickly those challenging times are forgotten.
SITTING BY THE OPEN FIRE 🔥
There is just something so mesmerising and soothing about sitting around the open fire and being outdoors..
WOBBALIES 🙊
(AKA Wallabies)
The best part of spending every day together is watching how much our girls are soaking up and learning each day.. the "Wobbalies" are still a regular topic of conversation and such a huge highlight for our two year old. She will tell you all about them.
Love when they come up with their own way of pronouncing words. 🙊
CHILLI ❤
We decided to hire a car for a day during our recent stay on Magnetic Island and we had the choice of a red or blue mini convertible.. the girls of course chose red. The man then proceeded to tell us the car we had chosen was called CHILLI. Hahaha what are the chances - .with.the.chillis driving around in CHILLI. 🙊
The girls thought it was pretty funny driving around in a car with no roof it was such a highlight of the day.
Isn't it funny observing what little things can be so memorable and fun from a child's perspective..
THIS IS US ✌
Casually trying to enjoy a moment together, whilst our 4year old insisted on taking a photo - meanwhile our 2 year old decided to take off running in the opposite direction down the street.
Travelling with kids can come with some challenges, but we wouldn't change it for the world.. these moments just add to the adventure and memories.
