It's almost a new year! I'm hoping this week's new COVID cases in Victoria won't lead us to another outbreak and/or lockdown, and I hope we can all enjoy tonight – and the year to come – in safety and good spirits.

As a podcast, Making Maroondah hasn't been much of a success – 2020 was a hell of a year for all of us, and the idea of recording and producing a podcast during that time was, it turned out, something I'd overestimated my capacity and energy for. My thanks, of course, to Mad Ram Cafe, The Public Brewery, Snap Fitness Croydon and Mamma Knows East for being part of the journey (although that last episode fell by the wayside during my 'mental down time').

Hopefully in 2021, something more can come of it. But, in the meantime, I'll try to use this page to promote all that is good in Maroondah, to bring attention to all the businesses and community groups and people that are out there doing great and exciting and worthy things!

Had a good chat today with Damian from Snap Fitness Croydon! An expat American, Damian followed his heart to Australia and has really made Croydon his home. It's a great episode, and we'll have it live next week or the week after. It'll be one to watch for!

Some good news for families and friends in Victoria, at last! The official position is still that it's best to isolate, and my family will be holding off on gatherings for now, but all the same... it's great to know we CAN get together.

Ahoy all! Mike Does Life here, working to rapidly roll out an experimental podcast that I hope will be of value to the Maroondah community.
