Here is a real honest moment for me and I do this for discussion. I would love to hear from people on both sides of the political aisle. If you do respond, please be courteous and treat people with respect.
I am struggling with something. The other day, a very well-known friend of mine, one of America's top speakers, asked his Facebook followers why Americans couldn't get along and still be friends even though they disagree politically. He and I are on the same side of the political spectrum. I called him, and we had some good discussions, but I'm having a hard time getting past something.
Let me set up a hypothetical situation to make a point about how we interact with people. I ask you men: If there was another couple you knew and the man told you outright that given the chance, he would sleep with your wife. How would you feel? Would you like him? Trust him? Want to spend time with him? Of course not! His admission of his destructive and evil potential behavior would make you dislike him. No way in the world, given his spoken intentions, would you stay in a relationship with him.
Now let me ask you this: How do you stay in a relationship with people you have known for years and actually like when they have explicitly stated that in the upcoming election, they are voting for:
* Taking away your guns
* Persecuting you for your faith
* Squashing your free speech rights
* Putting drag queens in your children's/grandchildren's schools
* Filling school libraries with absolute filth
* Letting young men destroy your grandaughter's sports by joining with the girls
* Abortion up to birth and infanticide after birth
* Pushing us into WWIII
* Spending our country into oblivion
* Allowing tens of millions of illegals to come into our country and destroy it, overwhelm our services, r**e and murder our citizenry, and take our jobs
* Raise the cost of living through inflation, resulting in higher grocery and gas prices
* Creating cashless bail and letting criminals walk free
* Demand under threat that you play make-believe and call men, women, and women, men
* Support the burning of public buildings and rioting and looting, as long as it is for a good cause
* Publicly insult you by calling you a cult member and a racist, homophobic, sexist, transphobic insurrectionist
So, why would I want to be your friend? Seriously. You are voting for people who will be absolutely horrible for me - and, ironically - horrible for you and your family as well, though you don't seem to see it yet.
I like you. I feel bad for you that you are so lost. I think you have many things going for you. But we are not the same. You are actively working toward a bad life for me and the ones I love and care for.
What fellowship does light have with darkness? This is where we are in America today. There are those who live in the light and those who live in the darkness. There are those who promote evil and call it good.
Is the political right perfect? No, not in any way, shape or form. But we want what is good. We are in a fight for the soul of our nation. We are in a cataclysmic battle between traditional Judeo-Christian capitalist values and worldviews and Secular humanist Marxist worldviews. Whoever wins this election will determine our future.
Why should I be in a relationship with you if your stated opinion and goal is to destroy all that we have worked for over 248 years.
How do you feel about this? How do you handle this? Let's have some discussion.
