২০১২ সালের ৪ই জানুয়ারি ফোরচ্যান নামের ওয়েবসাইটের বুলেটিন বোর্ডে ছবি সহ একটি মেসেজ পোস্ট করা হয়। ওয়েবসাইটের নীতিমালা অনুযায়ী ছবি প্রকাশকারীর নাম-পরিচয় গোপন রাখা হয়। অজ্ঞাত পোস্টকারি সেই ছবিতে ব্যবহারকারীদেরকে চিত্রের মাঝেই লুকানো একটি বার্তা উন্মোচন করার জন্য চ্যালেঞ্জ জানান। সে মেসেজটিতে লেখা ছিল - “হ্যালো, আমরা অত্যন্ত বুদ্ধিমান ব্যক্তিদের খুঁজছি। তাদের খোঁজার জন্য আমরা একটি পরীক্ষার ব্যবস্থা করেছি। এই ছবিতে একটি মেসেজ লুকানো আছে। এটাকে খুজে বের করো। এটাই তোমাদেরকে আমাদের কাছে নিয়ে আসবে। আমরা সেসব স্বল্প সংখ্যক ব্যক্তিকে দেখার অপেক্ষায় আছি যারা এটি সম্পূর্ণ করতে পারবে। গুড লাক।” আর নিচে ছিলো একটি কোড। 3310. পুরো ইন্টার্নেট দুনিয়া তোলপার হয়ে গেলো যেনো হঠাৎ করেই। পৃথিবীর সেরা হ্যাকার এবং কোড সমাধানকারীরা নিজেদের বুদ্ধিমত্তা প্রমাণের জন্য এই পরীক্ষায় ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়লো। আর এই রহস্যময় ধাঁধার নামি দেয়া হয় 'সিকাডা 3301.

It is a stand-alone sequel to the film Anaconda (1997) and the second installment of the Anaconda film series.
