Barnardsville is an alcove outside of Asheville, North Carolina. It’s leaf season in the Blue Ridge Mountains which apparently draws a heavy tourist attraction that the locals call “peepers.” They do not have a name for people who come to view their basketball courts… yet.

In California there’s protected land along the coast. Places that are the birthright of every American citizen. There is an idea in my mind of basketball courts as public spaces worthy of the same preservation as coastal cliffs or wetlands or the Grand Canyon. In this idea, there’s a national endowment to protect and care for all courts in the country.
