And this is the point
of it all, though it is not easy, it is worth the effort, because the value benefits the evolution of humanity. Walk away. Pray to “not let the world dig up evil in me” (as we say as Ifá devotees, each religion has this guidance). If you’ve ever seen your face turn ugly in anger, it’s not a good feeling. If that feeling is not apart of your nature, try to see the lesson in the contention influencing anger and avoid that kind of energy. You will lose, if you feed it.

Look around. There are many people who only see the value of people based on what they can gain from them monetarily—this is vanity. Don’t be vain.
Be truthful. Honest. Patient.
Then you’ll be rich.

Each of us spent time experiencing the vibrations of our mother’s and father’s heartbeat, just as we feel our own heart beat. Calm your nerves and reflect on the importance of being parent or child. Yes, it’s that deep!

We live in an era with the most freethinking, even when there may be a cost and still we expect people to copy the idea of another because it’s comfortable to know what to expect. Observe, learn & offer your authenticity.

It’s easier to hide behind the surface of a problem
and just as easy to make peace with acknowledging the problem
and even easier to know when a problem isn’t yours to solve. Because at this moment, you are not the problem.

Both good and bad conditions of a community, city, town, state, country, and nation, begins under a roof, 4 walls, a few doors & windows and a slab
but is especially influenced by the souls in the bodies of those homes.

How much peace would the world have, if everyone’s mirror spoke back to them?
It’s not by coincidence this is why we have over 8 billion people on the planet.

It seems the most wicked and evil among us, are unwilling to do the work of self-awareness in order to recognize they are the problem and the solution—some of them should stop wishing for the apocalypse.

It takes a greedy and selfish trait to follow through on wicked and evil plans. Governments find a leader who embodies these traits. Just remember it starts in the household first. So consider what kind of child you are raising to shape the world into a more bad or balanced place. And one shouldn’t wait until, the bad happens to them, we all have choices.

This tune I was about 4 or 5 and remember watching Touter, Inner Circle’s keyboard player playing the keyboard, with that Reggae, (dun, dun, dun, dun
) cadence and imagined being able to steal a moment to play just like that and watching him harmonize “ahhh” or wherever there was a harmony. Then as I turned back in to the C sound of Dad’s voice singing I began wondering why wear your sunglasses at night and I imagined Dad driving in the night with glasses in a blue car. Blue? I don’t know why but for some reason a blue car with rain drops rolling off as the wind pushed against the car at Dad’s rollercoaster speed, I loved being in the back pretending I was wearing my sunglasses at night too. I was always in my own music video as the music surrounded me and my brothers in the back seat of the car.

Honors to Corey Hart original for “I Wear My Sunglasses At Night”

Honors to Inner Circle and Calton Coffie for bringing that reggae swag and doing it with the rhythm and lyrics that honored the truth telling and grit of Roots, Rock, Reggae.

Reflecting back while being inspired by my father. I was around 4 at this time and used to hear these songs playing in the car and loved them. I used to think, “Why are they tearing down these walls?” I lived in my imagination often daydreaming the imagery of which words of the song I could understand. I often times didn’t connect that where my Dad spent most of his time taking us was to work—the studio. Remember to take what you can of your parents work, their stories, ideas, lessons, and see yourself within them and how they are our ladders. My grandmother was a classical pianist and would sing with my grandfather in their house. Those were the memories my father took with him as he climbed the ladder they set before him—their shoulders as the booster. We honor Inner Circle and Calton Coffie, without either, this music wouldn’t have been created Ascend in Power Daddy, Reggae Legend Calton Coffie đŸ™đŸŸ

I have two points, one for European descendants who immigrated and have been given without any real authority, but by theft and forced coercion
and those who were forced to migrate here and the few already here that came from Africa long before Columbus told his lies and committed genocide of indigenous people. The former who begins with “he’s not dividing us” (you’ll understand what is meant here if you choose to continue to be enlightened) and the latter (if you) took his omission as dividing his African ancestry from his American identity that was earned.

It’s not about the division which is what unaware European descendants retreat to out of discomfort when trying to deflect and actually create a divide between Black people who are putting the American experience for Black people in context vs. black people who are highlighting their family’s contribution to building and creating America and the culture and omitting awareness that their blackness is tied to indigenous first peoples of the Earth (Africans, everyone knows this, no matter the narrative). He’s saying both. That he has come from African people who built America just like how Europeans have come from a country in Europe and participated in shaping America through having the White status which has been designated a privilege and for him it is a privilege to be proud of being an American.

The reason why it may seem he is dishonoring his roots to Earths first people, is because he didn’t highlight his African ancestors but he doesn’t have to because we know and he knows. He’s calling out the White Supremacy ideology that only descendants from European countries get the privilege of being called American, when his ancestors who he knows are from Africa and also are American, like those Europeans have earned the right to call ourselves American without the hyphen. That’s his choice to see the power in that in the same way Europeans descendants do.

But I think it’s important to keep that identity as a reminder that we are all apart of the experience of taking and/or building on land that had genocide committed against native nations who are now less than both populations of descendants of Africans and European foreigners, one by force and the other by choice. The stark difference of being an so-called American (White Anglo) also tells the story of genocide.

But in any case no matter the identity, we all share in a dishonoring native people of these Americas.

That’s the conversation we need to start with first.
Then we can get to African descendants who have earned the identity of American without the hyphen and then who gave European descendants the authority to not include the identity of a hyphen when most of them are immigrants who should have to include a hyphen.

I think everyone should identify with a hyphen given the crime of genocide—there is not a way to earn the identity as American if your ancestor is not from the manynations of native/indigenous.

Music legend Smokey Robinson joins CNN's Chris Wallace to discuss why it's important for him to be known as a Black American.
