Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday announced to bring more stringent laws against the illegal occupation of land, saying that previously land grabbers were able to go scot-free owing to fewer fines and imprisonment

Imran Khan said that the government was now bringing a new bill pertaining to land grabbing in order to make its actions against the illegal occupation of land more effective.

Mohammed Sajawal (Mohammed Saj Jatt), an overseas Pakistani residing in UK has two cases that have been pending for over 35 years in Vehari courts over a land of 5 acres and a plot in village

Mr. Sajawal claims that with the backing of influential MPs from the N league, lack of support from authorities and not to mention his residency in the UK; it has become next to impossible to pursue legal action

Farmers' Protest in Chichawatni! ✊

Location: AC Office, Chichawatni
Date: 13th July 2021

On the 13th of July, Kisaan Ittehad Sahiwal are organizing a protest against the qabza mafia who have been actively capturing government land in Chichawatni.

Ghulam Mustafa Sahu and Cpt. (R) Muhammad Hussain are spearheading this protest in an attempt to shine light on the growing cases of land grabbing in the region.

This is the second protest of similar nature that's been held in the Sahiwal region in recent time. We request Addl: Deputy Commissioner Revenue Sahiwal , Commissioner Sahiwal , Assistant Commissioner Chichawatni and Chief Secretary Punjab to take notice of this situation and take action

CM Usman Buzdar has hailed Sahiwal as an important part of Punjab and even said that it has "extreme potential for agro-based industries".

However, with the rise of the qabza mafia in the area; questions do arise as to whether the agricultural sector will able to flourish while the threat of land grabbers lingers.

It is our appeal to the Addl: Deputy Commissioner Revenue Sahiwal, Commissioner Sahiwal, Assistant Commissioner Chichawatni and Chief Secretary Punjab to take notice of the troubling rise in land grabbing cases in the Sahiwal region. Otherwise, with the current state of events, the future of Sahiwal does not look promising.

Earlier this year, a significant victory was achieved in the war against the qabza mafia being spearheaded by Prime Minister Imran Khan. 👏

The Punjab government demolished 'Khokhar Palace' which belonged to the family of PML-N MNA Afzal Khokar and MPA Saiful Malook Khokhar.

In a statement, the PM lauded the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for "demolishing the palaces of qabza groups" and said that going after "big thieves" indicated real change.

While the efforts of the PM are commendable; it is yet to be seen how the judicial bodies like the Punjab Bar Council and Pakistan Bar Council will tackle the root cause of land grabbing i.e. ineffective judiciary processes and intermingling of the criminals with the authority

An Inherent Flaw in the Justice System! ⚖️

The biggest problem that the common man faces when dealing with land grabbing disputes is the overly complex, long and expensive legal process

Commenting on the issue, the Addl. SP Operations Islamabad
Islamabad Police stated that "It is a long process to provide justice to the victim of land grabbing."

Criminals exploit these complicated judicial processes and loopholes that can be found in the law. It is our request to Pakistan Bar Council to introduce initiatives that aid citizens to get justice, and not the way around

Police officers claim that land grabbers are actively operating in 9 areas in Islamabad: Bhara Kahu, Banigala, Koral, Loi Bher, Nilore, Sihala, Noon, Tarnol and Golra.

These land grabbers have:
⚠️ Well equipped henchmen
⚠️ Connections in the police department
⚠️ Connections in the revenue department

It is our request to the Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad to look into this matter and identify the culprits responsible!

Farmers' Protest Held in Sahiwal ✊

Farmers took to the streets to protest against the growing problem of land grabbing in Sahiwal. The farmers claimed that ASI Abdul Ghaffar along with his brothers are working with the qabza mafia to illegally take possession of their lands.

The farmers also claim that their appeals to the authority have been in vain so far and that they received death threats when resistance was shown against the qabza mafia.

This appalling situation needs to be brought up to the Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal, Assistant Commissioner, Sahiwal and Punjab Bar Council. The efforts being made by Imran Khan, Usman Buzdar and Punjab Police Pakistan should not be undone by these criminals.

It is our appeal to Usman Buzdar, Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal and Punjab Bar Council to look into this matter and provide justice to those who have been wronged!

Land Grabbing now in Pakistan Citizen Portal!

PM Imran Khan has included a category in Citizen Portal, being run under his direct supervision, to receive and pursue complaints on land grabbing

This will help the public to not only lodge complaints regarding their lands being grabbed but also expose the state land being encroached by the mafia

Good News for Lahore!

Lahore Police has established an Anti-Qabza Mafia Cell in accordance with the vision of CM Punjab Usman Buzdar to eradicate the qabza mafia.

Now citizens can directly call on the helpline number 1242 to notify the police about the illegal occupation of their land as well as harassment by land grabbers and goons.

The law states that:
"Anyone, who unlawfully grab or occupy property, will serve a jail sentence of no less than a decade.”
(Illegal Dispossession Act)
