Possibly a Thamnophis proximus – Western Ribbon Snake, or Texas Garter, but I'm unsure. We found this one making its way through our backyard, last weekend and it was more than willing to cooperate with me for a few photos.
The only photo that I have of it from above was taken with my phone for identification purposes, but I found it worth sharing, just because its markings were so beautiful to me. I'll post it in the comments, for those interested in identification.

In this short video, taken by Amber Barnes , you can see and hear the Belted Kingfisher flying past the hide (that small tan colored, spec in the water on the left is me) as I pivot around to keep my eye on him.

Literally the first press of the shutter button from inside the floating hide that I've been assembling for the last couple of weeks.
Amber and I have watched this male and his female counterpart hunt this area for a couple of years now, so we knew that they frequented this specific portion of the river, but I really wasn't hoping for anything more than a successful test run from this outing.

Granted, my whites are pretty overexposed and blown out, but just to have him immediately land so close to me, once I was inside the blind, was enough validation for me to continue its use and feel like the project is worth pursuing.
This was also my first time in a pair of chest waders and had I not fallen on my butt, these would've kept me nice and dry throughout this experiment! 😂
