Living out the foodie life dream.🥹✨️ We got to try out two restaurants that were owned by Celebrity Chefs, Giada de Laurentiis and Gordon Ramsey. They did not disappoint. Their food were absolute 🔥🔥🔥

Every morning, I stopped by the Bellagio Patisserie because their pastries were divine. Fun fact: It holds the largest chocolate fountain according to the Guinness World Records! 🤤❤️

Cheers to 2023! It is a New Year with new beginnings.

After a night full of drinks 🍸 and fireworks 🎆, I'm spending the first day of the year chilling in my couch while sipping on my oolong milk tea.

When I was little, my father used to teach us self-restraint by placing the candy on the highest shelf of the pantry. I couldn't resist the temptation, obviously, so when my dad was not presently in the kitchen, I climbed the shelves and took a piece. I assumed that if I took a little piece once in a while, he wouldn't notice. But he did.

Laffy Taffy was a fun subject to play with because I could give it a story about our childhood misfits.

Playing with composition has always been fun for me to play with. Sometimes, I like to focus on both the middle ground and the background to tell a story. Other times, I would blur the background and foreground to make the food more in focus in the middle ground.

Play with your composition and see how it can lead the audience's eyes to focus on certain areas of the image.

Foreground - Closest to the camera.
Middle Ground - Normally where the main subject is in focus.
Background - Furthest from the camera.

Been MIA! But that's alright! I'm back to finish the year with some yummy goodness. But first let's break some myths.

Myth #3: You need to buy several props to be good.

The answer is an obvious one. No need for fancy props. Be resourceful & creative with what you have around you. I clearly use my household items and home decor for my shoots. At one point, I didn't use any props at all and just let the subject speak for itself.

📸 Camera Angles - You can angle your camera straight on, 45 degrees, or overhead of your subject.

I notice that the streets are painted with blooming flowers and tinges of light green leaves in-between. So this April, I'm starting off with a pun. Because what paints our world of food, are not flowers, but FLOUR!

Flour is an ingredient that may not be grandiose, but it is an important part of almost every meal. It creates sweet pastries, hearty loaves of bread, crunchy fried foods, roux for your soups, and so much more!

To me, at least, it is the MVP. 😎

Rule of thirds is basically an easy method to making your photos visually appealing by placing your subject off center.

Simply turn on the grid in your camera or phone and align your subject to any of the intersections. In my case, the subject, the green leafy pechay, is positioned to the bottom right intersection.

Feel free to break the rule or try out other composition methods to broaden your style.

A leafy green version of a cabbage, and within the same family of bok choy, that can easily grow in your backyard. And by grow, I mean by a lot! March and April is the perfect time to harvest them.

These babies are a staple in the Filipino cuisine. Also a great addition to your soup, salad, and even your stir-fry meals!

Here's an easy typography trick you can use when creating food content or any content in general.

This is when you want to use only one font type throughout your design, but need to create a title.

🔸️Create a heading with the letters all capitalized. Create a subheading as well.
🔸️ Resize the heading so it is larger than the subheading. Place the subheading below the heading.
🔸️ Highlight the heading and click the "bold" button.
🔸️Voila! A simple title using only one font.

Fluffy pancakes with some bananas are my all-time combo. Mornings to me doesn't require heavy meals. I prefer a lighter and refreshing taste to start my day.

I did an action shot today and really liked how it turned out. Shoutout to my assistants for that amazing pour of maple syrup () and holding my background ().

Shoutout to for baking this amazing tres leches cake for my sister's birthday! 🙌🥳

If you are not already familiar with this name, then you are missing out.

Tres Leches means "three milk" in Spanish. You create a sponge cake (or a pound cake) and soak it in a combination of evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk - hence the name. Top it off with whipped cream and save it for later in the fridge....or devour it. 😉

I feel like winter decided to skip December and come in late into January. 🥶 So it wouldn't seem weird for me to be eating some cookies with hot cocoa right?

I still have the holiday hangover, even after 2 weeks lol, but decided to kick it off with some food photography. What better model than the classic? It was fun and I definitely ate all of the 🍪 afterwards. 😋

I find it arduous to acquire this sort of happiness. When I finally get the freedom to do what I like, the feeling of being happy is absent in this experience. Cultural fact for the day! 🌟

The handwoven skirt that my sister and I are currently sporting is an Ifontok attire in Bontoc called a 'tapis' with black long sleeve shirts and white beaded necklaces. A white belt tightly secures it all in place (by tight I mean like to the point where it nearly suffocates you, similar to a corset). If you notice in the back there is this really cool-looking tail made up of strings. So it sways behind us whenever we dance along to the beat of the music... with literally no shoes, only our bare feet. 🦶

It's not the best creation using Photoshop for the first time, but I laugh every time I see it. 😂

I got to admit learning my way around Photoshop is like loosening a ridiculous knot of hair where the easy way out is to cut it off completely. ✂️ Surprisingly I pulled through when more than once I felt like flipping the table.

Doing something new starts with humbling yourself with the basics. Even if it hurts pulling at the ends, getting the basics down creates an easier incorporation for more complex techniques.

Challenge yourself! Instead of becoming a pro, be a beginner. 😎💫

✨ What I love about creating and scheduling content calendars is the ability to save you time. Doing it ahead of time gives you breathing room to focus on other tasks.

✨ Posting quality content that offers value to your target audience should also align with your objectives. So feel free to share your secrets and expertise!

✨ Diligently engage with your audience. No one likes to be ghosted. Take at least a few minutes or so replying to their comments...but you do have the right to ghost the scammers and creepers.
