The United Nations Security Council should take stronger steps to reverse the rapidly deteriorating human rights and humanitarian situation in Sudan, Human Rights Watch said today.

During the Security Council discussion on June 2, 2023 to renew the UN Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS), all council members, including the three African members, should support increased human rights monitoring, targeted sanctions, and an arms embargo against the warring parties.

Juba, South Sudan September 24,2021---Engaged in a street fight in the capital Juba, Honorable James Lony Kang Hoth, a former Minister of Information in the Defunct Fangak State and a former town mayor of Ayod town, has bit off a big chunk of a young fellow's ear in his recent fist fight.

Speaking to South Sudan News Now, the young fellow who identified himself as an activist, Wuor Buony Ruot, said he was attacked by Hon. Lony Kang Hoth and an attempt to fight back in self-defense didn’t prove sufficient enough to protect both ears from the former Minister of Information.
