Damn it’s been a GOOD minute since I been to the movies but. . . .

BAD BOYS FOR LIFE REVIEW INCOMING:
Okay so boom! This movie was DOPE!!! 🔥🔥Seriously it’s the most fun I had at the movies in a long time. First off, I’m one of those people who can’t stand when franchises make too many sequels mainly because after a while the creators start focusing on making good spectacle over a good story and they end up being wack as hell and predictable *cough cough* (Fast & Furious) 🙄. But anyway I mention that to say I had VERY low expectations cause this is the 4th Bad Boys movie.

At the end of the day though, Will Smith and Martin cannot miss even after all these years. There were parts that had me crying laughing, the action was peak with all the great shootouts and fight scenes you would expect from Bad Boys up to this point. Reggie is the GOAT (you know why 🫡) Oh and I also liked how they connected parts of all the other movies into this one story. Honestly that was my biggest problem with the last one, (Bad Boys 3) I felt like they pulled the whole “Mike had a secret son” thing out the sky and even though I enjoyed the movie I was like GTFOH by the end of it. (Shoutout to Armando tho 💯).😂 But there was nothing like that in this movie and I ended up liking the story as much as the action. Which is crazy is hell for me to say out loud. 😳

Anyway, the best thing about this one is EASILY the cinematography though. 🎥📸 There were shots in here that damn near had me thinking I was watching John Wick. You can tell they really stepped up the camera work big time! I’m a sucker for long takes in action movies so all of that worked for me!

Last thing I have to say is I hope we get more fun movies like this in the future. These days, we have so many things going on politically and otherwise that a lot of movies coming out tend to get preachy and thinks it has to leave the audience with a message. Bad Boys: Ride ir Die is a legit turn your brain off popcorn flick and I miss these kinda movies. All fun, impossible stunts, over the top shootouts, car chases, explosions, hot women, couldn’t ask for anything more! 👌🏾🔥

Moral to the story is I can’t call this the best movie in the franchise (nothing beats Bad Boys 2 for me 🐐) but this definitely the most well shot and it deserves all the money it’s gonna earn in the box office. I’m definitely grabbin this on Blu-Ray when it drops.

First movie review of 2024:

Okay it’s been a while since I last did one of these so I’m glad to start off the year by saying I LOVED this movie!!! So look, I’ve been to Jamaica before and even got to tour Bob Marley’s childhood home and visit his grave, not saying that to brag, just to express how important it was that they do my guy justice! His music and message still resonates with me spiritually to this day you know. That being said, I was very nervous for this movie mainly because I know how biopics are and a lot of times they end up being disjointed highlight reels like how the Tupac biopic was.

I’m glad to say that this movie was very focused, realistic, as you get to peek into Bob’s life and the events that inspired his music. The performances were fantastic as well. Kingsley Ben-Adir and Lashana Lynch who played Bob and Rita Marley respectively both deserve Oscars for how authentic they played their roles! I didn’t know this before I saw the movie but many of Bob’s children and Rita herself were heavily involved in making this movie and it SHOWS so big shoutout to them for keeping Bob’s legacy alive and introducing him to a new generation!

All in all, if you are a fan of Bob Marley you’re probably gonna love this movie like I did, and if you’re not a fan, this movie might make you one. I’m glad I got to see this one in theaters, and I’m definitely gonna grab it on blu-ray when it drops! 10/10 go check this one out and bring some people with you! ☝🏾🇯🇲🔴🟡🟢
