Is 1,000 Followers Enough to Start Selling a Product or Service?

This is a question I get asked often—and I know many of you wonder the same thing.

Here’s the truth: the number of followers you have doesn’t matter as much as the kind of audience you’ve built.

I know people with just 1,000 followers making steady income online, while others with 30,000 followers aren’t earning anything.

The difference? One has a monetized audience, and the other has built an audience chasing likes.

Let’s put this into perspective.
Because of social media, 1,000 followers might not feel like a lot. But imagine being in a room with 1,000 people—all listening to you. That’s huge!

Now, think of it like this:
If you sell a product or service for K100 and 10% of your followers (100 people) buy it, you’ll make K10,000. And if all 1,000 followers buy it, you’ll make K100,000. That’s the power of a focused, engaged audience.

My opinion?

As long as you have followers—whether it’s 100 or 10,000—you can start selling. The real challenge lies in building trust and convincing them to buy from you.
