Even when they have oil, gas and human resources
You let the Fulani and Yoruba fool you
They tell you Igbo want your oil, but the same people are in charge of the oil in your backyard
They have polluted your land and your water

IGBO is a general name for people or tribes with similar dialect, names, gods and same cultural values ..

being IGBO does not stop you from being Nsukka,Arochukwu,Abakelike, Orlu,Ikwerre, Ukwuani and Agbor ..

You can't be answering IGBO name and the name of your tribe have meaning in Igbo Ethnic Language, your town name have meaning in IGBO and you are claiming to come from people who is opposite of you (BENIN)

Nzeogu (From Okpanam Delta State) Led Coup is tagged "Igbo Coup" but any mention of Delta and Rivers Igbo Speaking parts as Igbo sparks outrage.

Emefiele is tagged Igbo today because of his predicament, some of these people who were ready to tear their pants when he was called Igbo in the past are today silent, it's okay for him to wear his Igbo tribe tag now that he is in trouble.

Wigwe identifying as Igbo is causing issues currently, people are tearing pants up and down both the people that are not from Southsouth and Southeast, asking why he should be referred to as Igbo and not Ikwere, despite the man and his family in his lifetime identifying as Igbo and all his friends calling him Igbo.

Even though crude oil which is fast becoming useless in today's world has been found in large quantities in some Southeast States including Imo, Anambra, Abia and parts of Enugu State, whenever anyone from Southeast says "we have oil" people start shouting "no part of Rivers and Delta is Igbo", sincerely, I often get surprised at the instant outrage, what's really the problem?

I won't make any inference or conclusion.

But just to remind us, Tribe is not defined by Geographical location or Geopolitical Zones but as a group of people sharing similar culture, language and history.

That is why a person in Guinea can be Fulani and another person in Nigeria can be Fulani despite the distance.

We have Yoruba's in Kwara and kogi which is in the Northcentral geopolitical zone, we have Ijaw in Ondo which is in southwest Geopolitical zone, we have Igala in Anambra which is in Southeast Geopolitical zone, so why do even educated and exposed people try to shut their brains in trying to insist Igbo is restricted to only Southeast Geopolitical zone?

No amount of intermarriage or inter-trading can wash away a people's core culture and erode their language totally to that of their neighbors without remnants to even point to, even colonization and religion one of the most powerful tools used to condition and influence people's way of life has not completely and successfully done that anywhere in the world.

Finally, everyone has the right to call themselves whatever they want even if the tag they wish to bear makes a mockery of history, intelligence, rationality, facts and logic, such embarrassment should be left for only them to bear.

My only interest is, if they are not good to be called 'Igbo' in good times, when the going gets tough, they should not suddenly be called 'Igbo'

ANIOMA

Anioma people are one of the Igbo subgroups in present day Delta State, Nigeria. They encompass the communities which span across the 9 northeastern Local Government Areas of Delta State. They occupy the Delta North Senatorial District, which consists of the Enuani (Oshimili/ Aniocha), and Ukwuani/ Ndokwa and Ika geographical and linguistic zones of Delta State.

Anioma means "Good Land" in the Igbo language, and it is an acronym derived from the Local Government in Delta North district namely Aniocha, Ndokwa, Ika and Oshimili, however "MA" is added to give the acronym meaning and wholeness.

An ancient and industrious nation, Anioma is estimated to have a total population of approximately 1.8 million people.[1][2] The largest Anioma settlement and urban area is the Delta State Capital Territory which incorporates the city of Asaba along the Niger, with Okpanam and Igbuzor and surrounding communities.

Nigerian six geo-political zones are a wicked creation to whittle down Igbos influence and population. Nigeria has succeeded in creating disaffection and acrimony between the southeast and other Igbo communities outside southeast.

Go to Rivers State, Delta State, Akwa-Ibom state, Cross River State, Kogi state, Benue State, etc. It's just pure wickedness to decimate Igbo population, political and numerical strength.

The same thing could be said of Yoruba nation. Kwara state is almost 80% Yoruba, you'll also see indigenous Yoruba in kogi state as well.

But the most unfortunate thing is that the elites from these regions are so COOL with the contraption because they benefit from it.

In conclusion, we should re-negotiate our corporate existence and re-draw our national map for the betterment of every one.

I will say it that Benin are from present day Yoruba land ..if they didn't invade the land of Idu(Igodomigodo) which belong to various Igbo Tribes they will still be regarded as yorubas today ..go to yoruba land and you still see some of their people there ..this present Day Benin are yoruba people ..they have similar gods because Ogun is the god of Iron in Benin and same in yorubas ..we all know a lot of tribe came together to be called yorubas ..when some yorubas speak their dialect some of them don't understand each other but they remain one people because of dialect similarity..I come in peace
