They speak Ika dialects such as; Agbor, Awu(spoken in Abavo), Owa, Ede, Ute, Idumesah, Owerre, Ekpon, Mbiri, Igbanke. Ika dialect was classified by linguists under the Igboid cluster of languages. The standard form of Ika dialect is said to be the Agbor and Ekpon dialects of the Igbo language.
